Q1) Use the project file created from Week 2. Use it for this assignment. Based on your layout from week 2, using floor tool under architecture tab and select the floor with appropriate material and thickness using the property browser create a layout in the Ground floor Level. Align the floor plan with grids created from week 2
AIM: creat a floor to our week 2 residential unit
Introduction: create a floor using floor from architecture
Procedure:
step 1) go to architectural tab click on tab
then choose floor from that in that select floor architectural
step 2) then serlect pick line option from modify/floor
from various drg option, like rectangle

step9) then choose material as softwood,Lumber
and press ok, then apply and ok
then we seen our floor is change with 200mm thick and softwood material
Result: creation of floor with difreent thicknes and material are done successfully
Q2) Add walls based on the floor layout. Pick lines or use the draw tool to modify the boundary of walls. Use the property browser to select appropriate material and thickness for walls. After creating the walls verify using the property browser to see if the top and bottom of the walls are constrained.
a. Based on your observation, what is beneficial for connecting walls with associated levels rather than being Unconnected
b. Which option is convenient for modeling walls, By Height or By Depth?
AIM: make a wall using pick line tool in modify tab based on the floor layout
Introduction: walls are arguably one of the most important element of any building
As such the wall tool is a prominet function of autodesk revit architecture
Procedure:
step1) draw a residential layout
select floor plan from property
click on wall and select architectural wall option
then go to height and take height as 400mm
and selct wall type as generic 200mm
and draw a layout of approx 7000mmX 8000mm
and selct wall type as generic 200mm
and draw a layout of approx 9000mmX 8000mm
Step 2) material & thickness
select the wall layout
then go to property and choose edit type option from that
then TYPE PROPERTIES are open in front of us
step3) select duplicate option
and rename it as new wall
and then press on edit
and change thickness from 200 to 300mm

and press ok, then apply and ok
then we seen our floor is change with 30mm thick and brick soldier course

select all walls and go to property
then choose base constraint option
after choosing base contaraint
select it as level 1
and top constraint is upto level 2
step 7)
Q,a ) Based on your observation, what is beneficial for connecting walls with associated levels rather than being Unconnected
Ans) 1) if we are wish to change the level of wall or height of building during the drawing thats time connecting walls associated level is very helpfull
2) if you associate wall with level then whenever you change the level then our wall heigh also change with level
3) and if you not associate wall with level (unconnected) then if you are changing level then the height of wall remains same or any element like floor, roof etc
Q.b) Which option is convenient for modeling walls, By Height or By Depth?
Ans)1) when we select the height option for the wall, the wall be created above the level,
2) when we select the depth option wall will be created below the level
3) so height option is convenient for modelling wall
Result: Successfully applied material to wall
the top and bottom of the wall are constrained to wall
3) Copy the model elements ( wall, floor ) modelled to Ground Floor Level and paste it aligned to First Floor Level . Use modify tab to utilize copy and paste options to align
elements to a different level
AIM: Use modify tab to utilize copy and paste options to align elements to a different level
Introduction: for making multi storey building that option is more convinent

c. Bed Room ( 9’ X 12’ and 15’ X 11’)
d. Rest Room ( 10’ X 12’ )
e. Kitchen (8’ X 10’)
The above are for examples. You can use them or use your measured entities to create your model based on your layout. You may include entry walkway, Patios or Guest
rooms based on your creativity and purpose of modeling. Convert units if you are using metric system
