Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 4 Challenge

OBJECTIVE

Route the following harness layout in Electrical workbench. Make assumption for harness bundle diameters. Use Following connectors as shown in layout diagram.

Add protective covering on all branches connected to DT06-2S & DT06-4S connectors. Keep end extremity at 30mm (from connectors end)

PROCESS

STEP 1- Convert all mechanical connector parts into electrical parts

Defining Connectors:-

1- Create / download Connectors 3D

2- Create required Geometrical parameters. Create 2 points on the middle of both ends of the part and Create a axis system on the mating face. Put Y axis to the other Mating part and X axis towards the Locking system

2- Define Parts as a Connector

3- Define " Bundle Connection Point "

4- Define " Connector connection Point "

STEP 2- Arrange the connectors in the Electrical Harness Assembly

STEP 3- Create Multiple Branching

STEP 4- Add protecting covering to the branch
