Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 2 Challlenge

To define the given Connectors and Connector Clips as Electrical parts

This is the given male connector CATPart dumb solid body, This is to be electrically defined.

First to define the solid part to an electricl part we need two points and an axis system.

In above shown figure a point is created at the center of the connector front face for the representation of a connetor connection point.

There's an axis system created at the same point for the orientation connector connection.

Now an another point is created at back side of a connector for a bundel connection.

Now we have required amount of data to this solid part into a elector connector.

To define an mechanical part into electrical part we need to change Part Design Workbench to Electrical Part Design Workbench.

Now defining the solid part as a connector and setting the no of terminals for the part.

and defining connector connection point and bundel connection point.

So now the part is fully defined as an electrical part.

These steps are followed for the Female connector also to be defined electrically.

Only one extra thing is added in this connector is a clip connection point, so that the connector is mounted on the clip.

So now for a clip connection we need to define a cavity connection point.

Note - the orientation of axis of the connectros and clip should be in same direction.

And now for the Clip to to define into electrical, it should be defined as a Cavity.

The orientation and procedure will be same as connector like representation, orientation, contact and coincidence.

Now these three parts are electrically defined.
