WIRING HARNESS-WEEK 2 3D MODELLING
As per the given set of links of electronics components , I have downloaded the igs files of the CAD files and extracted it and converted it into the catpart files and saved.
Initially, I have opened the catpart file of the connector named C-2-1743357-2 and tried to define it. For that, I have opened Mechanical Design - Part Design. Then I have craeated a point n the centr of the circle and named it as Bundle entry point. Then created another point on the opposite side of the connector in the middle of the two extreme entity points and named it as connector_connection_point. Then I created an axis in that point with Y axis directing outward and z as locking axis and x as side axis. Then named the axis as connector_connection_axis. Then again I craeted another point for the cavity connection. For that point , I have created point in the middle of the place where our cavity need to be connected. Then named the point as cavity_connection_point. Then created an axis in that point with Y axis directing outward ready to connect the other axis to align. And Z axis in the locking side and X in the side . Then named the axis as Cavity_connection_axis.
Then I moved to Electrical part workbench in the Electrical harness Discipline option in the Equipment and systems and tried to define connector using Define_connector tool. Then defined it as a single insert connector type with 3 number of terminals and given the part number as C-2-174357-2. Then , I tried to define Bundle connection point using the tool named Define_Bundle_Connection_point. Then I defined it as representing the extreme end face of the connector near to Bundle connection point and point as Bundle connection point and initial condition as the same face above mentioned. Thus I defined the bundle connection point too. Now , I need to define Connector connection point. For that I activated Define_Connector_Connection_point tool and selected the connector. Then defined as representing the connector_connection_point and giving the contact face as the right face needed to contact and given coincidence as Y axis and orientation as X axis. Now its also defined. Atlast, for this component we need to define cavity connection point too. For that, I have activated cavity_connection_point_tool and selected the connector. Then defined it as representing cavity connection point and giving needed contact face. Then I have given coincidence as Y axis of the cavity connection axis and orientation as X axis. Thus I defined electrically the first component and stored this device in the electrical catalogue I have created for conductors. Then saved it.
Afterthat, I have opened the next conductor named C-DT06-08SA. In this conductor , I have created the Bundle entry point and then Connector connection point in the part design workbench in the mechanical design option. Then I have created an axis too in the connector connection point with needed directions of the axis and named it as Connector_connection_axis. Then, I moved to Electrical part design workbench in the Wiring harness discipline option in the Equipment and systems. And activated Define_connector tool and selected the conductor. And define as single insert connector type with part number as C-DT06-08SA with 8 number of terminals. Then suing the Bundle_connection_definition tool , I have defined it as representing needed face and Bundle_entry_point as point and initial condition as the representing face. Then I using Connecot_connection_definition tool, I have defined it as representing connector_connection_point and giving suitable contact face and coincidence as Y axis and orientation as X axis. Then I clicked OK. And thus I defined this component electrically. Then using the tool store_device , I have stored the defined conductor in the electrical catalogue named as connector in the familt of connector. Then I saved it.
Then I opened my cavity part named C-0085229-01-3 and I created the point where our axis is needed for the contact with the conductor. And in the part design workbench , I have created the cavity_connection_point and cavity_connection_axis with proper direction of the axis system. Then I moved to Electrical part workbench and defined the part using Define_mounting_equiopment tool and selected the part. Then I defined the cavity using Define_Cavity tool in the workbench. Then I defined it as representing cavity connection point and selecting needed contact face . Then given coincidence axis as Y axis and orientation as X axis. Then clicked OK. Thus I defined the cavity.
Now I need to assemble the cavity named C-0085229-01-3 and conductor named C-2-1743357-2. For that, I created new product file and imported the part named C-2-1743357-2 which is our conductor and C-0085229-01-3 which is our cavity. Now I moved to the workbench of Electrical _Assembly_Design in the Wiring_Harness_Discipline option in the Equipment and systems. Then using the tool named Connect_Electrical_Device tool after using the compass and placing the cavity in the proper positioning, I got my required output connection with automatically giving suitable constraints to the component. Thus I completed my challenge. Thankyou.

Ans :- Create a product file and navigate to the Electrical Harness Flattening for wire harness flattening option and save it in the same location where the wire harness or routing assembly is stored. Define the 'Harness flattening parameters' in order to flatten the required wire harness assembly. While defining…
