Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 2 Challenge
CONNECTORS:
Wire harnesses are connected to power sources or circuits using connectors, which are electro-mechanical devices that create a continuous electronic signal. Male-ended plugs and female-ended jacks are the fundamental components of connectors and can be joined together to transmit an electronic signal. They are the well-known polarised multi-pin connector mating pair with wire leads. A snap-mounted female-ended chassis mounting can accommodate a male-ended plastic housing with release. Depending on the application, the pair is available in a wide range of sizes, shapes, materials, qualities, and dimensions, including circular, header, pin, crimped, and multitap.

Deutsch DT06 – 08SA:
This specification covers the requirements for application of DEUTSCH DT series connector system.
The system features a plug and receptacle that offers 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 12-pin arrangements which
accept DEUTSCH size 16 solid (machined) or stamped & formed contacts.
The plug and receptacle each consist of a housing and secondary wedge lock. The secondary wedge
lock is used to ensure that the contact is fully seated and secure in the connector. The connector and
the secondary wedge lock are shipped separately. These connectors feature integral latch-style
mating. The 8 & 12 pin arrangements feature integral keying and are color-coded.
