Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Applique Design with Engineering Features
DOOR APPLIQUE DESIGN:
The objective of this assignment:
1. Create the Tooling axis for the given component and perform Draft Analysis on both the Class A and final component.
2. Create Class B and Class C surface from the given Class A surface.
3. To create Four way and Two locators on the given model.
4. To create Heat stakes on the given model.
TOOLING AXIS:
- Before starting we need to perform the Draft Analysis on the component to check whether the provided Class A surface has proper draft angle on it so that it can become manufacturable.
- To perform the draft analysis, we need the Tooling Axis first.
- In order to create the Tooling axis first we create a point at the center of the surface and then we draw a line normal to the surface.
- This line is our tooling Axis for the above component.
DRAFT ANALYSIS:
- To check whether the given component has proper draft angle or not we need to perform the Draft Analysis so that the part can be manufactured without any problem.
COLOR CODE FOR DRAFT ANALYSIS:
- GREEN COLOR: For draft angle more than 3 degree.
- BLUE COLOR: For draft angle between 0 to 3 degrees.
- RED COLOR: For negative draft angle.

The gap or the clearance between the locator and its hole must be 0.1 mm.
FOR HEAT STAKES:
The gap or the clearance between the Heat Stake and its hole must be 0.5 mm.
