ATTACHMENT FEATURE CREATION ( RIBS AND SCREWBOSS)

AIM

To create the ribs and screw boss for the given drill handle

Objective

• To create the tooling axis for the coponent .
• To create the solid component .
• To perform the draft analysis on thata body .
• To create the ribs and screw boss at the mentioned area .

Tooling axis

• The propable axis for tooling is checked and identifies .
• One flat surface is extracted from that surface .
• Midpoint is created on that surface.
• The tooling direction is developed on that point .

Creation of Ribs and screw

RIBS

THickness of the component = 2.5mm

Height of the Rib is = 5*t => 5 * 2.5 => 12.5 ( Height should be under 12.5mm )

Rib thickness at bottom = 0.4 * t => 0.4*2.5=1mm

Rib thickness at tip = 0.768mm> 0.75mm ( condition Ok )

Draft angle >= 0.5 degree

Rib fillet radius = 0.25mm

Rib root thickness = 2.686

Screw boss

Thickness of the component =2.5mm

Wall thickness of screw boss W =0.4*2.5= 1mm

Height to diameter ratio = 3:1

= Height =>15mm

Diameter => 5mm

Fillet radius = 0.25mm

Draft angle >= 0.5 degree
