Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 2
AIM : Create solid part with Class A surface and create the Dog House for the Door Trim considering the design rules.
OBJECTIVES :
- To check continuity of Class A surface.
- To create a tooling direction.
- To perform draft analysis of the plastic component.
- To create Class B and Class C surface using Class A surface and make a closed Body.
- To create Dog House considering the design guidelines.
- To perform the Draft analysis on the final component.
SOLUTION :
CHECKING CLASS A SURFACE

TOOLING AXIS :
To create the tooling axis, I extracted a surface from class A with no propagation and created a point in the middle of the surface by using the point command and created a line at that point using point - direction from Line command.

DRFAT ANALYSIS ON CLASS A:

CLASS B CREATION :
To create Class B surface i have offsetted Class A surface to 2.5mm. After offseting Class A surface we can see there are some patches on offseted surface. So this patches are covered by extracting the boundry of the patch to be cover and using Multi-sections, Swept command.

FINAL B SURFACE :

C SURFACE CREATION :
I created C surface by using swept command by Extracting Class A surface and then using swept with 90deg angle.
Joined the C surface

JOINING A AND C SURFACE :
A and C surface are joined and then they are extrapolated so that they can intersect with B surface while trimming.
FINAL JOIN :
After trimming all the AC with B surface. They are Joined using JOIN Command.

CLOSED BODY :
To make a solid part i have used Close surface command from Part workbench.
DOG HOUSE CREATION :
To create Dog house I have Extracted B surface with No propagation. Created a Point and Made the sketch.

Extruded the sketch to 20mm

Covered the upper part with Multi section surface.

CLOSE BODY DOG HOUSE

Split using Spilt Surface Command.

Fillet is given to the edges and Draft is given to the sides of Dog house according to the guidelines.
