ATTACHMENT FEATURE CREATION
RIB DESIGN
RULES FOR RIB DESIGN

- the rib thickness should be 0.4 or 40% of the plastic component thickness
- the rib height should be less than or equal to 5 times the thickness
- the draft should be 0.5 or less than that to ensure the thickness at the tip to be greater than or equal to 0.75mm
- the nominal fillet value for the rib should be 0.25mm
- the rib root thickness should comply the factor 30%+- the thickness of the component
- the distance between adjacent ribs has value of height : width of 3:1
DESIGN RULES APPLICATION FOR MY RIB AND DIMENSION
- first the sketch for the rib design is created and the main rule followed are
- rib height and rib thickness
- the rib height as per rules 5 times the thickness and the tickness is 2.5 and so the rib height is 2.5*5= 12.5 mm

- the rib thickness as per the design rules 40% of 2.5= 1mm
- the draft of 0.5deg is also given and the rib tip height of greater than or equal to 0.75mm is ensured

- the fillet value of 0.25 is also given as per the rules

- creation of sectional view and the calculation of rib root thickness
- as per the design rules the root thickness can be within the range of 2.3 - 2.8mm
