Aim: The aim of this project is to create a tooling axis for the given part and to make it a solid body of prescribed thickness.
Objectives: Using the given Class A surface, create a tooling axis and make it
a solid body of prescribed thickness.
Design Methodology with images:
Procedure for creating Tooling Axis
1. Intersect the model with the plane perpendicular or to an axis system.
2. Extend the lines which are perpendicular to the plane.
3. Again intersect the model with another plane and extend the lines perpendicular to it.
4. Create a bisecting line by bisecting option in Line definition.
5. Rename it as Tooling Axis.
Procedure for creating B Class surafce
Side Walls Walls
Extrapolate the walls with point continuity of distance 20mm.
• Trim the walls to get the required shape.
Top & Bottom Surfaces:
• Extract the surfaces separately and untrim them.
Extrapolate the surfaces with required distances.
.Offset them with thickness value.
• Trim them for required shape.
. Measure the fillets, calculate it and create fillets.
Procedure for creating Class C Surface:
• Get the boundary lines of Class A surface separately.
• Smooth the curves with a smooth option as boundary lines have a lot of vertices.
• Sweep the curves with tooling axis as direction in Sweep option.
• As both lines do not intersect, extrapolate them with a certain distance.
• Trim the surfaces.
Procedure for creating Closed Body.
Join the Class A and Class C surfaces.
• Trim those joined surfaces with Class B surfaces.
• Go to Part Design and insert a Body.
• Create a closed surface.

Fender Design Challenge
Introduction: A fender is the curved portion of the car's body that sits over and houses the wheels. The purpose of a fender is pretty simple. Its purpose is to keep mud, rocks, and other road debris from being thrown around by the tires. In other words, the fender is a housing for the wheels that keeps road debris contained.…

Section Modulus calculation and optimization
OBJECTIVE: To increase the Section Modulus of the hood by necessary changes using NX cad. SECTION MODULUS: It is termed as the ratio of the second moment of area and distance from N.A (Neutral axis) to the extreme fiber. Also, it is the measure of the strength of the given member. The stress in the outermost section of…
