WIRE BENDING CHALLENGE
OBJECTIVES
In this challenge, we have to perform an analysis to simulate the bending of a wire in ANSYS. We have to use Copper Alloy (Non Linear), Aluminium Alloy (Non Linear) and Magnesium Alloy (Non Linear) for the wire alone. we need to find out the Equivalent stress and Equivalent strain on the wire alone and Compare the results.
PROCEDURE
RESULTS
Case1 – copper alloy
Equivalent stress of wire
Equivalent elastic strain of wire
Case2 – Aluminium alloy
Equivalent stress of wire
Equivalent elastic strain of wire
Case3 – Magnesium alloy
Equivalent stress of wire
Equivalent elastic strain of wire
CONCLUSION
Copper Alloy | Aluminium Alloy | Magnesium Alloy | |
Stress of wire (MPa) | 651.98 | 449.06 | 484.23 |
Strain of wire | 0.00597 | 0.00637 | 0.010839 |
From the above table represent that the copper alloy has maximum stress than other alloy materials because copper alloy has high young's modulus
and magnesium alloy has maximum strain than other alloy materials because of less young's modulus than others.
