Week 4- Rolling operation
Aim: To simulate the rolling operation on a workpiece made of copper using static structural analysis
Procedure:
The analysis we are doing is a static structural analysis and structural steel and copper are added to the engineering data

(Copper alloy Nonlinear)
Before we can begin analysis we need to create a model with the given dimensions but since the model is already given it is imported using the import option in the geometry and the model is checked for any imperfections

The length of the workpiece is increased by 60mm and its size on both sides is decreased by 8mm as given i'

Once the model is updated, contacts have to be established the contacts are flipped and are named based on the definition, and friction of 0.2 is given

A cylindrical joint is given for rollers

Meshing is done on the component with finer mesh done on the copper alloy
After the meshing is done the model is set for boundary conditions

A displacement of random values till 90mm is given for the workpiece

A rotation of certain angles is given for the rollers one along the clockwise direction and one along the anti-clockwise direction
Results
1:Equivalent Plastic strain:

2:Equivalent Stress

3:Deformation along the Y axis

From the above directional deformation simulation and the graph it can be observed that the workpiece has displaced by near to 90mm the maximum displacement observed is -89.587 mm along the Y-axis.
