Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

1. 45km distance with 500kg Cargo Mass using FTP Drive Cycle

• ADVISOR Tool opened
• In the Load File section changed to EV_defaults_in
• Cargo Mass changed to 500
• All parameters remain same as shown below and press continue

• Drive Cycle changed to CYC_FTP
• One cycle is 17.77km at 2477 seconds. Hence, 3 number of cycles (53.31km, 7431sec) selected for heving 45km test.
• Click Run

• Result obtained is shown below
• After running for 41.4km, battery discharged completly. Car couldn't make up 45kms.
• Almost during 5700 sec SOC becomes zero. So, driven km is (5700/7431) x 53.31 = 41 kms

2. 45km distance with 500kg Cargo Mass using FTP Drive Cycle & improved Battery Capacity

• Battery capacity changed from 25 to 30
• All parameters remain same as shown below and press continue

• Result obtained is shown below
• After running for 49.4km, battery discharged completly. Car ran more than 45kms.
• Almost during 7000 sec, SOC becomes zero. So, driven km is (7000/7431) x 53.31 = 49.8 kms

3. Gradeability test for Toyota PRIUS

• In the Load File section changed to PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in
• All parameters remain same as shown below and press continue

• Drive Cycle changed to CYC_FTP
• Put tick on Gradeability Test and adjust parameters in Grade Options as shown below

• All System Enabled and Speed set to 20mph
• Click RUN

• At 20mph, Gradeability obtained is 19.8% as shown below

• Speed set to 25mph
• At 25mph, Gradeability obtained is 16.5% as shown below

• Speed set to 30mph
• At 30mph, Gradeability obtained is 14.7% as shown below

• Speed set to 40mph
• At 40mph, Gradeability obtained is 11.7% as shown below

• Speed set to 50mph
• At 50mph, Gradeability obtained is 9.7% as shown below
