Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool
In this first question they asked me to take EV_defaults_in file in the advisor tool.
* And they asked me to change the cargo mass to 500kg

And then I changed as they asked me to do
* I also taken the cycle as FTP (Federal Test Procedure)

At first I had taken no.of cycles is 3 in the simulation parameters page
* And observed the distance travelled by the vehicle, it is upto 41.4km.

* So, as per the given condition i.e., (cargo weight =500kg and unfer the FTP cycle ) I had observed that the vehicle can only travel upto 41.4km.
* so as the SOC (state of charge) value is at 0. the vehicle cannot travel up to 45km.
2.
Here they asked change the battery capacity for the above case (question-1) in EV_defaults_in file
* So I had changed the number of battery modules in to 50

* And by keeping the remaining parameters same I run the simulation

* the vehicle is travelled for upto 53.3 km for 3 no.of cycles

* And the soc (state of charge) value is at in between 0-40% remain, after the simulation
* so, the vehicle can travel more distance than 53.3 km
So, as per the given condition i.e., (cargo weight =500kg and unfer the FTP cycle, increase of battery capacity ) upto 50 modules the vehicle can travel more than 45km of distance
3.
In this question they asked me to take PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file in the advisor tool.
* so, as they asked me took the file

* by selecting the gradeability test icon in simulation parameter page i also defined the value of speed in the grade options

* as the speed is in MPH it is not able to change but when we run the model it is automatically converted in KMPH as we already selected the units as metrics before starting of advisor tool
* after running this module at 55MPH (88.5 KMPH) the gradeability percentage is 1.7 %

* simultaniously i had run this simulation at different kind of speed values
* Gradeability at 48.3 KMPH is 2.5 %

* gradeability at 56.3 KMPH is 2.4 %

* Gradeability at 72.4 KMPH is 2.2 %

* gradeability at 104.6 KMPH is 1.2 %

* Gradeability at 120.7 KMPH is 0.7 %

* here as they asked me to tabulate the values i am presenting that tabulated values below
|
Speed in KM/H |
Gradeability percentage |
|
48.3 km/h |
2.5 % |
|
56.3 km/h |
2.4 % |
|
72.4 km/h |
2.2 % |
|
88.5 km/h |
1.7 % |
|
104.6 km/h |
1.2 % |
|
120.7 km/h |
0.7 % |
here i observed that as the gradeability value decreses the speed will be increased, because as the gradeability value increases the acceleration must be increased and due to the forces acting on the vehicle automatically the speed will be decreased
Thank you
