Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool
1. The ev_default.in model is loaded and the cargo weight is set to 500kg which makes the total weight to 1508kg.

Now Clicking on next the simulation parameters appears. Here, set the drive cycle to CYC_FTP, No of Cycles is 1.

Then click on RUN.

It can be seen from the plot that for 1 FTP cycle the EV travels for 17.8km with a decrease in SOC by 40%.
Let us consider Two FTP cycles and check the result.

It can be observed that the distance traveled is 35.5 km, The SOC used is almost 80%.
Considering Three FTP drive cycles

It can be seen that the distance travelled is 41.4km and the battery is drained out completely.
From this exercise it is clear that an EV with a cargo weight of 500kg cannot travel a distance of 45km.
2. As we know it will take more than 2 drive cycles to achieve the distance. Let us assume 3 drive cycles with 27 modules of battery pack. The result is as shown in the figure below.

It can be seen that 44.8km can be travelled with use of 100% SOC with 27 Modules and 3 drive cycles.
Changing the battery modules to 28 and drive cycles to 3, let us observe the results.

It can be seen that the vehicle can travel a distance of 46.3 km by using 100% SOC.
therefore with the change in battery capacity, the requirement can be achieved.
3. Gradeability Test with PRIUS_Jpn_default model.

The Prius Jpn default model is selected from the drop-down. In the Simulation parameter window select gradeability test and grade options.

It can be observed from the experiment that
| Sl No | Speed in mph | Speed in kmph | Grade % |
| 1 | 30 | 48.3 | 2.5 |
| 2 | 40 | 64.4 | 2.5 |
| 3 | 50 | 80.5 | 2 |
| 4 | 60 | 96.6 | 1.5 |
It can be seen that as there an. increase in speed there is a gradual decrease in gradeability
