Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool
1. The objective is to determine the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle for EV_defaults_in file if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions in ADVISOR tool
- Firstly, we need to open the ADVISOR tool in Matlab and then choose the Vehicle input as EV_defaults and then change the cargo mass as 500 kg.

- Then change the Drive cycle to FTP and it is clear that the maximum distance that can be traveled for one cycle is 11.01 miles ie.., 17.07 km.

- To achieve the desired distance of 45 km, we need to run about 2.55 times the Drive cycle, covering the distance of 45.135 km.

- In the observation of the result, we come to know the vehicle has not traveled the desired distance of 45 km and there is a warning that the range given is exceeded by the vehicle capacity.

From the simulation, we understand that the vehicle cannot travel 45 km and if we want to achieve the desired range, we must increase the battery capacity.
2. The objective is to change the battery capacity and repeat the simulation of EV_defaults for the FTP drive cycle.
- Firstly, to increase the battery capacity hang the module number from 25 to 35 module.

- By increasing the battery capacity and running the simulation, the vehicle can travel up to 29.05 miles ie..., 46.75 km

Thus, by observing the simulation, to get the vehicle to travel beyond 25.7 miles we need to increase the battery capacity which conceives that increasing battery capacity can maximize the range of the vehicle.
3. The objective is to perform a gradeability test with the PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file
- Indrer to achieve the objective, firstly we need to select the vehicle input as PRIUS_Jpn_defaults.

- the gradeability test can be performed by increasing the speed of the vehicle for the duration of 40 seconds.

The results are compared and recorded in the form of table is shown below,

In observation, as the vehicle speed increases, then the gradeability decreases.
