Simulation Analysis Of EV By using ADVISOR Tool
1. For the EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.
2. In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.
Explanation :
We are taking the pure EV vehicle with the EV_defaults_in file and here we are doing the simulation by taking the cargo value as 500Kg and 136Kg by using the ADVISOR simulation has been shown below

In the next step, we are Using the CYC_FTP Drive cycle where in this cycle we can observe the distance covered by our EV in single SOC has been shown below

for one cycle of the Drive cycle, the EV can travel up to 17.8Km with 60% SOC has been shown below

For 2 Cycles of CYC_FTP, the EV can travel up to 35.5Km with a 20% charge has been shown below

Conclusion :
- From the above EV vehicle by changing the cargo value to 500Kg with FTP drive cycle we can achieve the maximum of 36Km with a charge remaining 20%
- Hence for the above changes, the vehicle cannot achieve the 45Km
we can observe whether the vehicle can reach 45Km by changing the battery capacity shown below
Here we are changing the Battery cells from 25 to 35

then we are changing the number of cycle to 3 as we observe the maximum distance for the cycle id 17.7Km has been shown below

From the output results, we can observe by increasing the battery capacity the vehicle has travelled up to 53Km with SOC remaining 10%
3. Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file
Compare your results in a table and conclude.
Explanation:
The below image shows the Vehicle parameters of the PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in

Here we are going to find the gradability of the vehicle at different speeds has shown below

First, we are going to find the gradability by using the defaults values of the vehicle data that have shown above then we can achieve the gradability of 1.7% has been shown below

and the same has done by changing the speed by keeping the time constant we can observe the gradability values as shown below

Conclusion :
- From the above results, we can observe that with constant time 10s by increasing the speed the gradability is decreasing
- the above values are taken with the UDDS Drive cycle
- here we have to change the basic parameters of the test condition like speed by keeping the remaining values to defaults the above gradability has achieved
