Week 2 : Basic Calibration of Single cylinder SI-Engine
Q1) Run the case at 1800 rpm and list down important parameters:
BASED ON RESULTS SHOWN AT SCREENSHOTS

- AIR FLOW RATE - 24,6 kg/h
- BMEP - 9,5 bar Brake mean effective pressure (BMEP) is defined as brake power times the number of crank revolutions for each power stroke divided by displaced volume times engine speed.
- BSFC - 239,2 g/KW-h Brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) is defined as the fuel mass flow rate divided by brake engine power
- In-cylinder pressure - 48,89 bar
Q2) Increase the power output at 3600 rpm by 10%

We`d running some simulations changing the bore and stroke together and than realise that if we change only the bore would be better so as the screenshot shown we`ve moved from 22,4HP (in the square engine) to 24,7HP in case 2 (bore 90mm and stroke fixed at 86mm) and increased more to 27HP in case 3 (94mm bore and stroke fixed at 86mm).
This was the solutions found at the moment, we know that could be easier to increase the amount of AIR and FUEL inside the cilinder but we`re just at the begining of the course, we probably going to couver a airbooster, turbocharger in the nexts projects.
