Week 10 - Challenge 1- Attachment Feature Creation (Ribs & Screw Boss)

Procedure to make Screw Boss in Door Handle CATIA V5

The starting step is to make a Tooling Axis. In this part i have taken a Tooling Axis in the Center of a Class A Surface.

At First the Class A Surface is taken for a reference and offseted to form a Class B Surface. Then again the Class A Surface is taken as a reference to form a Class C Surface which is Outer Surface of the Class A Surface. After all the Surface is formed the Class C and Class A Surface is joined first and then the Class B Surface is Trimed with the joined Class A and C Surface. Now it is formed a Closed Surface. We can check them weather they are closed or not by selecting Boundary Command.

After the Final Closed Surface is done go to Part Working Bench and make the Closed Surface into a Closed Solid Body

After the Final Closed Body is done now its time to make the Ribs and Screw Boss

First we are going to do Ribs for the Door Handle. To do that he need to make a sketch on the Extracted Sirface.

Then the Sketch Work is done with the required dimensions and they were Extruded. After Extruded they were Thicken. Then the Draft is done for the Ribs with 0.5Degree as a required.

Now the Screw Boss work is started. Like Ribs start with the Sketch for Screw Boss on the Extracted Surface. The Sketch drawn with the required dimension and it was Extruded. Then they were Thickened and Draft on the required.

After the Ribs and Screw Boss were created apply Fillet to the edges of the parts on 0.25mm.

Now Draft Analysis is done for the Total Solid Body.
