Usage of Navigation tool , Timeliner and Clash Detection test using Naviswork
1). Use the Architecture/ Structure Project file developed by you in Week 6 to 8. Export the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file following the export settings discussed in class
AIM: To export the architectural and structural file to Navisworks cache file.
Tools Used: File, Export, NWC
Procedure:
Step1: Open the architecture file in Revit and export it as an NAW file.

Step2: Repeat the same for both structural and architectural file.
Step3: After exporting open the file in Navisworks.
RESULT: Revit architecture and structure file had exported to Navisworks catch file.

2) Use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file
AIM: To use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file
Tools Used: Navisworks, viewpoint, walk, record, stop.
Procedure:
Step1: Open the previously exported files.
Step2: Now click on the Viewpoint tab and click on record.

Step3: Now click on walk to walk all through the rooms.

Step4: Click on stop after finishing.

RESULT: Animation is recorded for the rooms which walked through.

3) Use Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file
AIM: To use Navigate tool to use the Realism feature to walk through the model and record it as animation in the Navisworks file.
Tools Used: Navisworks, realism, walk, stop.
Procedure:
Step1: Open the architectural model in Navisworks.
Step2: Click on viewpoint and select the view.

Step3: Click on the realism command and select the third person and start recording.

Step4: Now select walk and walk through the rooms.
Step5: Finally click on the stop after finishing.

RESULT: Animation is created using the realism feature and recorded.

4) Embed both architecture and structure *.nwc file to your Navisworks file. Create a clash detection test between the two models
a. Run the Clash Detection Test
b. Study the clashes between the two models
c. List which of the clashes could be approved
d. List which of the clashes could be neglected ( will be taken care of later) e. List which of the clashes can be resolved
f. Save the results after color-coding the clashes to the Navisworks file
g. In case of resolution annotate the clash and save the view to defined views in Navisworks
AIM: To embed both architecture and structure *.nwc file to your Navisworks file. Create a clash detection test between the two models
Tools Used: Navisworks, home, append, clash detection, run test.
Procedure:
Step1: Open the architecture file in Navisworks.
Step2: Click on Append in the home tab.
Step3: Select the structural model.

Step3: To identify the clashes between architectural and structural models. Click on clash detective.
Step4: Now click on Run Test.

Step5: After a test study about clashes List the clashes which are approved, reviewed, resolved, or new by selecting them in the dropdown list.

Step7: List the clashes which can be approved by selecting approved in the dropdown list.

Step8: List the clashes which can be taken care of later as reviewed.

RESULT: We have successfully performed the clash detection test where we can resolve the problems and send the files to the design engineer for corrections.
5) Using the Timeliner feature in Navisworks prepare a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulate the task completion as a visual simulation. Record it and save the timeline simulation to the Navisworks file
AIM: To prepare a schedule for the project using timeliner feature by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulate the task completion as a visual simulation. Record it and save the timeline simulation to the Navisworks file
Tools Used: Navisworks, timeliner, add task, attach the materials.
Procedure:
Step1: Open the structural file in Navisworks which is already exported from revit.
Step2: Click on home tab and click on timeline their.
Step3: Add task and attach material by clicking on selection tree.

Step4: Assign planned and actual start and end dates.
Step5: Follow the same procedure for the entire building in which order the tasks have to complete.
Step6: Click on record and click on simulate to play recorded tasks and stop recording then save the project.

RESULT: Schedule has been created using the timeline feature in Navisworks.
