Usage of Navigation tool , Timeliner and Clash Detection test using Naviswork

AIM

Use the Architecture/ Structure Project file developed by you in Week 6 to 8. Export the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file following the export settings discussed in class

INTRODUCTION

Autodesk Revit is a BIM(Building Information Modelling) software civil engineers, architects, mechanical, electrical, plumbing(MEP)engineers

Here we are using Autodesk naviswork exporter

NWC file exporter is used

PROCEDURE

Step 1:Open Revit software

Open the structural file saved

From file select export option

Select NWC

Step 1:Open Revit software

Open the architectural file saved

From file select export option

Select NWC

RESULT

The structural and architectural files are exported to NWC file format

AIM

Use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file

INTRODUCTION

Autodesk Revit is a BIM(Building Information Modelling) software civil engineers, architects, mechanical, electrical, plumbing(MEP)engineers

Here we are using Autodesk naviswork Manage

Navisworks allows users to open and combine 3D models, navigate around them in real-time and review the model using a set of tools including comments, redlining, viewpoint, and measurements.

Tools used

Navigation tool

Animation

Record

Save viewport

PROCEDURE

Step 1:Open Autodesk Naviswork software

Open the NWC architectural file

Using zoom tool get into the building

Step 2:Select View point

Select walk option

Step 3:Select Save view point and save the view

Select navigation

Select Record on save view point

Navigate through the room

Step 4:To play the animation

Select Animation tab

Select the saved video

Click on the play button

Step 5:To export the video into the system

Select export option

Select the video format

Click ok

RESULT

File is imported to naviswork
Using navigation tool walk through the building and saved the animated video

AIM

Use Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file

AIM

Embed both architecture and structure *.nwc file to your Navisworks file. Create a clash detection test between the two models

  • Run the Clash Detection Test
  • Study the clashes between the two models
  • List which of the clashes could be approved
  • List which of the clashes could be neglected ( will be taken care later)
  • List which of the clashes can be resolved
  • Save the results after color coding the clashes to the Navisworks file
  • In case of resolution annotate the clash and save the view to defined views in Navisworks

PROCEDURE

Step 1:Step 1:Open Autodesk Naviswork software

Open the NWC architecture file

Step 2:Select Timeliner feature

Step 3:Select selection tree

By selecting the task from selection tree

Add task to the timeliner

Step 4:Add all task one by one

Enter the datas

Planned start

Planned end

Actual start

Actual end

Add all the dates to the events

Step 5:Select a event on timeliner

Select same on the selection tree

Click attach on the timeliner

Click on assign to the selection

Step 6:To see the animation of the events

Select stimulate option in timeliner

Click on the play button

Step 7:Select export option in timeliner

Select the video format

Click on ok
