Underbody Coating

UNDERBODY COATING :

Underbody coating provides long term protection from corrosion to car's underbody. It also protects parts like internal body panels, frame rails and other inner cavities that are not physically accessible but are prone to corrosion.

Ideally any additional underbody coating should be applied when the car is brand new and clean. Car manufacturers use thick paints and sealants for the underbody, but adding an underbody coat especially in coastal cities is useful. Salt water tends to corrode cars really badly.

  • Rail taking BIW in paint booth. The inclination angle and time at which it is there inside the ED bath is decided with respective to weight and facility of plant.
  • Angle at which it rotates is the angle at which all the ED droplets let out there cannot be any lag or any droplet can't be stored inside body which means that will addittionalyreact and give more of coating . Body is rotated in such a way that no droplet found inside or every part of body is completely E-deposited and after which it goes for sealant and paint process.
  • The more ED coating we give, the more better paint absorbtion and more corrossion resistant the car will.
  • After ED bath, it goes to primer coating bath. It is priliminary coating for the car. First lvl of paint coated above which the color of car will be coated.

Types of Undercoating:

  1. Water- and Paraffin-Based Undercoats

  2. Petroleum- and Rubber-Based Undercoats

  3. Asphalt-Based Undercoats

Pros : 1. The protection it provides to the carriage of your vehicle.

2. It gives an extra layer of protection against rust and corrosion, protecting vehicle.

Con's: 1. It will work best on new vehicles that have not been exposed to road conditions.

2. It will not work if corrosion already exists and the corrosion needs to be removed first before it can be applied, which can be expensive.
