What is under-body coating ?

Under-body coating is coat which prevent car body from corrosion and rust.

As we know car body is made up of metal like iron,aluminium,etc. we know that metal reacts with oxygen. metal get corrosion due to nature to prevent that currosion under body coating is done. under body of car is expose to material or object like stone, mud, rain water , small metal pieces. this thing can easily damage the car under body. thats the reason to apply under body coating .

There are 4 types of under body coating

1. Rubberized Underbody Coating
2. Wax Based Underbody Coating
3. Asphalt Based Undercoating
4. Polyurethane Underbody Coating

1. Rubberized Underbody Coating

Rubberized underbody coating is commonly used coating on cars . it is best underbody coating for car it protect car from dust,mud, corrosion,scratches etc. it protect underbody very well.

2. Wax Based Underbody Coating

Wax based underbody coating is most affordable coating . it sustain upto 6 to 7 months after that we need to reapply coating. this coating s easy to apply than other coating.

3. Asphalt Based Underbody coating

Asphalt Based uderbody coating is usually done on truck,lorries and large vehicles . this coating protect the underbody from moisture,rocks, chips etc. This coating takes time to apply. This coating contain rubber for sound profing purpose.

4. Polyurethane Underbody Coating

Polyurethane Underbody Coating offers good protection against currosion and also bonds with metal.This coat closed up the fracture and splits occured on under body . This coating is easy to apply.

PROS

• Advantage of under body coating is to protect car body from rusting and corrosion.
• It is very easy to maintain the coating.
• underbody coating also help for sound insulation.

CONS

• Cost of underbody coating is low but it is still costly beacause if we get underbody coating from manufacturer they charge us more money.
• Coating should applyed cearfully .if any coat while applying goes inside the joint or any mechanical part it can harm the movment of that mechanisam.
