To calculate the dead , live and wind load for RC residential structure and to apply them using TSD
Q.1 Calculate dead load in design report based on IS code and apply dead load on the model
- Finishes of 50mm
- Slab thickness as per the design
- Brick wall load
- Roofing load
Load calculations:
- Dead load = 1.2kN/m^2
- Finishes = 500mm x 24kN/m^3 = 1.2 kN/m^2
- Brick wall load = 0.15 x 20x 5.2 = 15.6 kN/m^2 (Ground to intermediate floor)
- Brick wall load = 0.15 x 20x6.8 = 20.5 kN/m^2 (Intermediate to roof)
- Brick wall load = 0.15 x 20x14.5 = 14.5 kN/m^2 (Roof to top )
- Roof load = 1.5 kN/m
Procedure:
- first open the previous week file in tekla software.
- then go and define thwe reqired loads in the management set.
- go to model and apply the loads on the model under the load tab.

THE DEAD LOADS ARE APPLID ON THE MODEL.
Q.2 Calculate live load in design report based on IS code and apply dead load on the model
Load calculations:
The live loads are calculated and mentioned below, based on the IS 875 code..
- Corridor = 5kN/m2
- Meeting Room = 5kN/m2
- Store Room =5kN/m2
- Toilet = 2knN/m2
- Rest Room = 2 kN/m2
- Canteen = 3 kN/m2
- Office Room = 3kN/m2
- Conference Room = 5 kN/m2
- Equipment Room = 10 kN/m2
- Administration Room = 5 kN/m2
- Workshop = 5kN/m2
- Staircase =5kN/m2
Procedure:
- ssimilarly follow the above mentioned procedure for appliying the live loads.
- then go and define the reqired loads in the management set.
- go to model and apply the loads on the model under the load tab.

Q.3 Generate manual wind loading in the design report based IS code as per the following input
- Basic wind speed = 50m/s
- Terrain category 2
Load calculations:

the wind loads were calculated.
Q.4 Based on the above calculation apply the loadings on the model
Procedure:
- similarly follow the above mentioned procedure for appliying the wind loads.
- but for this go to load tab and wind wizard AND set the data about the wind and define the calculated loads.
- go to model and apply the loads on the model under the load tab.

RESULTS:
THE WIND LOADS ARE APPLIED TO THE MODEL.
