1.What are HVAC systems? Why are they essential in the modeling of buildings?
Solution:- HVAC stands for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning. These includes the components which has also been given in REVIT features such as duct , duct placeholder, flex duct, air terminal, fabrication part, P&ID Modeler, pipe, plumbing fixture and electrical components. This system provides heating and cooling to residential and commercial buildings. It is the process of replacing or exchanging air within a space. It involves the removal of moistures, smokes, dust etc. Hence it is very essential in the modeling of buildings.
2. From week 7 assignment, based on the building designed use the same Revit file to design a HVAC system for each floor to cover the topics included in the class.
a. Typical HVAC unit includes Distribution center
b. Collector
c. Ducts
d. Blower
AIM:- To design a HVAC system in the office building created in week 7 assignment
INTRODUCTION:- The procedure of designing a HVAC system is explained in detail with step by step procedure
PROCEDURE:-
RESULTS:- HVAC system has been successfully been created with the use of REVIT 2022
3. Use the add-ins tab to load plug-ins for robot structural analysis to your Revit software
AIM:- To use the add-ins tab plugins for Robot structural analysis to REVIT software
INTRODUCTION:- The procedure to add ins tab plugins for ROBOT structural software from Revit is explained in detail with step by step procedure.
PROCEDURE:-
RESULTS:- Robot structural analysis software has been successfully added to REVIT software
4. Why do we need to assess buildings/analyze while modeling elements? Does design affect modeling in anyways?
Solution:- Structural stability, safety and serviceability are the important parameters to be considered while designing a structure. It is necessary to analyse the modelling of structures because of the following reasons:-
Yes structural design affect modeling the structures. It helps to analyse the building structures correctly for providing the best optimum solutions to the building systems.
5. From the structural model developed in week 6 and 7, export the complete analytical model to robot structural analysis.
a. List your assumptions on what boundary conditions will be realistic for the analysis approach
b. Use the design standards to decide what loads must be applied to floorings based on the type of structure decided
c. List the load combinations and include them in the analysis model
d. Analyze the building and report the following results
i. Maximum Moment in each floor for all Load Combinations
ii. Maximum Displacement in each floor for all Load combinations
iii. Lateral Displacement in building for all Lateral Load combinations
e. After analysis, do you think you have a better approach or idea in modeling structural members?
AIM:- To analyse the building of structure created in week 7 wuth the use of ROBOT structural analysis
INTRODUCTION:- Analysing the building of structurec with the use of Robot analysis software is explained in detail with step by step procedure
PROCEDURE:-
Yes I have better approach of modeling the structures with the use of ROBOT structural analysis software 2023
RESULTS:- Structures have been analysed with the use of Robot structural analysis software 2023
6. What is energy analysis and why do we need to consider it while modeling in Revit? How does the factor of sustainability improve the quality of your design?
Solution:- In an energy simulation using an ‘Energy Analytical Model’ (EAM) that has discrete spaces and surfaces - each representing the main sources and paths of heat exchange within the building itself, and through the building to the exterior environment. There are Autodesk softwares such as REVIT that enable to create energy optimisation of the building.
It can able to reduce its environmental impact and environmental assessment of the structures.
Factor of sustainability:-
