Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

01. The Major elements in the above automotive wiring diagram

Battery

Generator

Distributor

Fuse

Ammeter

Current and Voltage regulator

Switches

02. a. Fuse

Purpose: Fuse is used as safety device in a circuit to protect the device

Working : when ever there is a flow of high current than the rated current in the electrical circuit the fuses get blow off and cut the connectivity in the circuit in order to prevent hazard or damage to the devices.

b. Switches

Purpose: Switches are used to control the load ON/OFF by close or open the circuit

Working : Switches act as elements to close or open the circuit whenever switches are pressed it closes the circuit and makes the current to pass through it to turn ON the load. when switch is release it opens the circuits and breaks the flow of current.

c. Battery

Purpose: Battery is used to store electrical energy

Working: Battery stores the energy in the form of chemical energy whenever it is charged and it discharges the electrical energy when required

03. For a total load 10A from battery we can have a fuse of 12A to protect from any hazards.

04. If 500W is the load

Then if we select 48V battery

Current will be =500/48

I=10.4A

We can have a battery of 48V and current 10.4A

05. Beam Light and Scalco beam are connected in parallel in the circuit as the voltage remains constant in the parallel circuit.

06. Plate light and Tail light are connected in series as the current remains constant in the series circuit.
