Preparing Schedule & Cost Estimation for a building using REVIT
1) Aim & Introduction : Use the shortcut keys in Revit discussed in class to complete the following tasks and list them below
Procedure :
a. Using 3D model create a section box - Section Box - BX

b. To create similar doors and windows in a floor plan layout- Similar - CS

c.To reduce the thickness of lines visible in plan views - thin line - TL

d. To apply override settings to a floor in the model section view - override Setting - VG

e. To increase the range of visibility in a plan view - View Range _ VR

f. To select the previously selected items - Reselect - Ctrl<
g. To add annotations to the model views - Annottaion -DI
h. To bring the model elements in line - Align - AL
i. To rotate the model elements - Rotate - RO
j. To move an object to another location - MOVE - MV
k. To copy a model element - Copy - MO
l. To mirror an element about an axis - Mirror - MM
m. To create an array of model elements - array - AR
Result :From the above procedure we come to know that the Followings are the command that are useful for revit design
2)Aim & Introduction : Using Revit and the project used from week 6 to 8 prepare a schedule for the following
a. Walls
b. Doors
c. Windows
d. Material – Concrete/Wood
Procedure :
1) Open The Exisiting Drawing That has been save already
2)From the Tool Bar choose view option and Select schedule >> Schedule/quantity from it,as shown

11)The following Floor Schedule Spreadsheet Occurs as shown

Result : From the Following Procedure we Come to know to take the Schedule quantity and material take off quantity using revit.
3) Aim & Introduction :To Use Revit Calculate area and volume of each room in the model with appropriate room tags applied to each room. Prepare a schedule report for area and volume of each room.
Procedure :
1)From the Designed plan using View tool bar Choose Schedule>>Schedule/Quantity From the tool bar

2)Choose room as Option from the Dialog Box and Choose the Following Paramaters that are required for list as shown

3)The following Room Schedule Spreadsheet Occurs as shown

Result : From the Following procedure we came to know how to calculate the schedule quantity for room areas
4)Aim & Introduction: Using the same schedule using the unit cost rate for materials available in the internet, prepare total cost of materials used in the project
a. Total Cost of Materials
b. Individual Material Take off
Procedure :
1)Open the Exisiting plan,Choose the wall and click edit type and enter the cost of wall as shown

2)Choose Schedule >> MAterial Take off option and choose wall option from the Dialog Box and Choose the Following Paramaters that are required for list as shown

12)The total cost of Window take off material is shown

Result : From the Following Procedure we come to know the individual material take off using revit
5) Aim & Introduction : Using the concept of Visual Programming discussed in class, list a flowchart for the following scenario
a. How to decide framings for a structure using Dynamo ?
b. If there is no water coming from the pipes
c. If request for money from client has been declined for the project
Procedure :
a)How to decide framings for a structure using Dynamo ?
- Assembling of farmwork at yard
- placement of farmwork at site
- placement of reinforcement
- laying of concrete
- vibration and compaction process
- Curing
- Completion
b)If there is no water coming from the pipes
- Check The Pipe Lines
- Check whether there is flow of water in the line if yes
- check the leakages in pipe line
- Find the leakages
- Fix the problem
c)If request for money from client has been declined for the project
- Explain the position and Situation to the client
- If They are getting ready to pay work further and proceed the work'
- if they are not willing close the project
6) Aim & Introduction : List the parameters associated with each model element
