Internal Geneva Mechanism

1. AIM:- With the help of Geneva Mechanism to create 3D models for driver and driven wheels and perform motion analysis.

2.OBJECTIVE:- The Geneva Mechanism is a gear mechanism that translates a continuous rotation movement into intermittent rotary motion. The rotating drive wheel is usually equipped with a pin that reaches into a slot located in the other wheel ( driven wheel ) that advances it by one step at a time.

3.BODY:- 

Steps Taken for modeling and motion analysis

1. First we have to go to part design where we sketch driver and driven gear in the solid works as per given drawing.
2. We have to put some feature on the sketch for both driver and driven
3. Then go to the assembly section and assemble the both with help of different mate command.
4. Put correct co relation between them.
5. Then go to the motion study section before this we have to save our assembly.
6. For performing motion analysis we go to motion study.
7. Where we set motion study properties first FPS 60 for 10 RPM.
8. Then we set a motor for 10 RPM
9. Then go contact option where we contact type contact relation and material.
10. Then we go to PLOT section we draw a plot Force and Time.
11. After completing this we set FPS 120 for 20 RPM.
12. Repeat the whole process. i
13. In this whole process we need only correct mates.

CONCLUSION :-

•  Geneva drive indexing mechanism converts the continuous motion of the driver wheel into intermittent rotary motion of the gear.
