AIM: To conduct frequency analysis on rotating shafts and find the resonant frequencies and 5 modal shapes respectively
THEORY:
All objects have a natural frequency or set of frequencies at which they vibrate. The quality of the sound produced by a vibrating object is dependent upon the natural frequencies of the sound waves produced by the objects. Some objects tend to vibrate at a single frequency and they are often said to produce a pure tone. For example a flute tends to vibrate at a single frequency, producing a very pure tone.
PROCEDURE:
The flywheel shaft was designed in SolidWorks according to our set of dimensions.
Frequency simulation was selected
Alloy Steel material is applied to all parts
A frequency analysis was performed for 5 modes and respective outputs were obtained
RESULTS:
CONCLUSIONS:
The shown are the natural frequencies of the first 5 modal shapes. Any loading conditions resulting in vibrations of above frequencies tend to damage of the object hence frequencies above this range should be maintained

Mobile Drop test Challenge
DROP TEST CHALLENGEOBJECTIVE: To build the input deck for a drop test simulation from scratch. Note: The orientation of the cellphone is also important and there are specific guidelines on how to orient the products but for this assignment, we will ignore that. The objective of this assignment is not to get a correct simulation…

Week - 2 - Explicit and Implicit Analysis
AIM: To solve the equation F(u)=u3+9u2+4u using both explicit and implicit methods with a residual tolerance of 0.01. In the equation, F-Force in the bar and u-displacement in the bar. The problem is solved by both explicit and implicit analysis methods. In both cases an incremental load control scheme is used.…

Simulating Combustion of Natural Gas.
AIM: Perform a combustion simulation on the combustor model and plot the variation of the mass fraction of the different species’ in the simulation using line probes at different locations of the combustor as shown in Fig. You need to plot for CO2, H2O, CH4, N2, O2, NOx emissions & Soot formation. THEORY: Combustion of…
