Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge
Aim:- To check whether the car passes the European standard.
Theory :-
There are generally 3 standards according to which cars fenders are desgined:-
Japanese Standard
US Standard
European Standard
1. Japanese Standards:- The Japanese Standard requires the distance between the wheel and fender to be a minimum of 5mm at 3 points

2. US Standards:- The US Standard requires the fender to be at a minimum distance of 10mm from the outer surface of the wheel at points at every 10 degrees from the -20degrees to 180degrees of the wheel center.

3. EUROPEAN STANDARD:- The European Standards requires 5 points in particular positions at the outer surface of the wheel should be at a minimum distance of 10mm from the inner surface of the fender.

Procedure:-
The fender provided to us has to be checked of complaince for the European Standards. To check that we need to make some lines at perticualar angles as required by the standard & then we calculate the 'L' & the 'a' value for the provided fender. As per European Standards 'L' should be more than 10mm & 'a' should be more than 5mm.
