Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge
Aim :-
The aim of the project is to calculate the wheel arc and prove whether the car will pass the standards or Not according to Europian Standards.

Sketch is drawn by considering the European standards as follows :-
- Sketch is drawn by considering wheel centre as origin point.
- Horizontal line is drawn from the origin for reference.
- A vertical line is drawn said to be SB.
- 30 and 50 degree angle lines are drawn from the vertical line SB said to be SA and SC respectively.
- A line is drawn from the origin to a point on fender Wheel arc which is 150mm apart from the Horizontal reference line, this line drawn is said to be SE.
- A line is drawn from the origin to a point which lies exactly in the middle of point SC and SE, this line is said to be SD.
- Intersection points are drawn with the help of lines and fender edge.
- And at last we measure the length between the points and the fender edge and we decide the failure criteria.

Results Obtained :-
Measuring 'L' for given wheel and fender at section SA

The value of 'L' at section SA is 10 mm.
Measuring 'L' for given wheel and fender at section SB

The value of 'L' at section SB is 9.9489 mm.
Measuring 'L' for given wheel and fender at section SC

The value of 'L' at section SC is 0.1136 mm.
Measuring 'L' for given wheel and fender at section SD

The value of 'L' at section SD is 3.8244 mm.
Measuring 'L' for given wheel and fender at section SE

The value of 'L' at section SE is 8.1089 mm.
SECTION CLEARANCE ‘L’ (in mm) STATUS
SA 10 <= 10 PASS
SB 9.9489 <10 FAIL
SC 0.1136 < 10 FAIL
SD 3.8244 < 10 FAIL
SE 8.1089 < 10 FAIL
CONCLUSION :-
Only point SA has a clearance of 10mm and rest other points does not have a clearance of 10mm and also we can say that after point SC the wheel remains outside the fender which will affect the safety of both the car and the pedestrian.
