Fender Design Challenge
FENDER DESIGN
Fenders are the major part of automobile which play a major role in safety of car body and the predestrian as well as the person inside the car. It prevents chips, sand , mud and other element which can cause damage to the pedestrians or the car body. When the vehicle moves forward the wheel movement is forward and upwards which leads to through things to pedestrians or and other vehicle on road
Types of Fender
1 Full Fender
These type of fenders are used in old vehicles and was heavy in weight and lots of material loss happens

AMBASSADOR WITH FULL FENDER
2 Half Fender
These types of fenders are used in day today cars and are light in weight as well as less material loss happnes in these fenders

HALF FENDER
FENDER DESIGN
The fender design consists of 4 major mountings :-
- DRIP AREA
- A PILLAR MOUNTS
- SILL MOUNTINGS
- BUMPER MOUNTINGS
DRIP AREA
In design of bumper mounting the drip area plays a very important role it holds the fender with the chassic of the car and present inside thr hood area it has the design rules which need to follow while designing the fender drip, it shown below :-
MASTER SECTION
The drip area should be minimum 150 mm from the headlight mount area as shown below:-

DRIP AREA 150MM AWAY FROM HEADLIGHT MOUNT
The height of the drip area should be 40 mm or less

Height of Drip
- Drip area is created using the master section data provided.
- The drip area should be 150mm from the headlight mounting so it dont disturb the headlight housing.
- From rear drip should be 200mm so that it wont involves with the cables of the engine.
- It should have 3 degree protrute so that human eye wont be able to see inside the engine bay or any unwanted things.
- Create drip with LAW EXTENTION. and provide all mesurements given in master section.

DRIP AREA
A PILLAR MOUNTING
- This is to attach the fender with the A pillar with the screw.
- The Mounting should be flat and should not have sharp edge.
- create sketch and use emboss to feature to create the fasteing surface.

A Pillar Mountong
BUMPER MOUNTING
- It is created to fit the bumper into the fender since it carry extra weight of the bumper so the stiffness of the area matters and it has been given with long darts.
- sketch has been created to create the emboss for the fixation of the bumper with the clips.
BUMPER MOUNTING
COWL MOUNTING
- It is the area where the baffle is mounted also known as baffle mounting
- It is created by using the cruve on surface , sketch is created for the push clips holes.

COWL MOUNTING
SILL MOUNTING
- Fender with body is mounted using sill
- Dandum plane is created for the creation of emboss.
- Fastner holes are by timming the surface.
