EXPLANATION REPORT OF BENCH-MARKING

Benchmarking :

This is the first step for new product development and Predesign & Development phase of the Vehicle development process in which we compare the features and technologies of our developing product and pre-existing product in the market.

Example:

I am developing a car which can travel the 30 km per litre and cost should be approximate 10 lakh and Existing cars can travel the 25 km per litre and the cost is approximate 12-13 lakh. So it is good that I have to select the best material and stop the failure of components and control the price which should not cross the current price. Some extra features like the external and internal look of the body have to be different and attractive etc.

After that, I have to compare each and every component of the product with the Competitor's product and improve the performance and reduce the weight of the Product. my product should look so good and Unique at an affordable price so that any customer could purchase them.

So the Benchmarking Data is input for the design phase and if this input is not right then my complete design will go wrong for the product and my final product will be full of defects. So for the improvement of any product, we have to do reverse engineering and look at the clear features and components of the product so that we can add or remove the extra engineering value and improve the features of the product.

These 6 cars I will suggest to Mr D.S. Pughazhyendhii for their family. All Car has 5 seating capacity but the main parameters are varying Price, Fuel Type, Mileage, Engine, Transmission, Driving Range, Fuel tank capacity and Seating capacity.

But He fond of big cars and his money budget is 8 to 10 lakh So I will suggest one of them a car.

CONCLUSION: HONDA WR-V KEY is the Best Car for the OWNER. The car is looking Big in size which is within the budget(₹ 9.17 lakh) and Milage(23.76 Km/l) + Driving Range(948 Km) + 40 litres fuel tank. Now Owner can Travel from Bangalore to Madurai (500 km) with the five family members and use it to commute to his Office.
