Benchmarking
BENCHMARKING:
Benchmarking is a process of measuring the performance of a company's products, services, or processes against those of another business considered to be the best in the industry, Best in Class.
The point of benchmarking is to identify internal opportunities for improvement. By studying companies with superior performance, breaking down what makes such superior performance possible, and then comparing those processes to how your business operates, you can implement changes that will yield significant improvements.
REQUIRMENT:
Benchmark with presently available cars in the market for the following case.
Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii is a married man who lives in Bangalore which is a highly crowded city. His Family comprises five members including his wife, five-year-old boy, his father, and his mother. He visits his native place Madurai which is 500kms away from Bangalore once in a month. Also, he will be using his car to commute to his office. His budget falls between 8 to 10 lakhs on road. Please suggest to him options so that he will buy a good car for his family.
- In my view,
1.The number of passengers is five, including a child, and the vehicle should be spacious with enough leg room.
2.He uses his car for Daily use for office and a monthly trip to his native so the vehicle good mileage.
3.Based on factors I suggest SUV Vehicle & Diesel Engine with Manual Transmission.
4. The Budget of a car is 8-10 lakhs.
I suggest four cars
- HONDA WR-V

- TATA NEXON

- MARUTI SUZIKI S-CROSS

- MAHINDRA XUV 300

Based on the requirements a detailed benchmarking is done.

PERFORMANCE
- Honda WR-V has much more stable performance than all the remaining cars.
- Stable performance both on city and highway with the remaining.
- Honda WR-V has linear engine power and torque is sufficient for family purposes.
- The ARAI reported shows HONDA WR-v has high mileage compared to the other.
FOR FAMILY PURPOSE REQUIRES MILEAGE AND HEADROOM AND LEGROOM SPACE.
- Honda WR-V is the best among the group because of its spacious cabin interior with more legroom for the rear passengers.
- Even though Tata Nexon has spacious interior but mileage plays an important role in city traffic and highway.
CONCLUSION
Therefore I, suggest Honda WR-V is the best for Pughazhyendhii family with high mileage, spacious interior (Legroom space) and also has safety parameter for crash test.
