Benchmarking

Benchmarking

Benchmarking:

Benchmarking involves a structured comparison between similar products, services or processes on some dimensions of performance. For example it can be used to compare the availability and delivery of features in a product and in this form often provides the basis of consumer tests and reviews. These look at products and services and provide recommendations based on which is best or some form of ranking amongst competitors.

It is particularly useful when comparing not only performance but also practice – in other words what do the different organizations do to enable that performance to be delivered? And applied in this way it is a powerful tool in process innovation sin e studying how the ‘best’ achieve their performance can provide powerful clues for changing the way processes operate. Process benchmarking of this kind can operate at several levels:

  • Between similar processes in the same factory or service branch
  • Between different factories or service branches
  • Between different competing organizations

.

Why Benchmark

  • Identify opportunities to improve performance
  • Learn from others’ experiences
  • Set realistic but ambitious targets
  • Uncover strengths in one’s own organization
  • Better prioritize and allocate resources

8 steps in the benchmarking process

  • Select a subject to benchmark. ...
  • Decide which organizations or companies you want to benchmark. ...
  • Document your current processes. ...
  • Collect and analyse data. ...
  • Measure your performance against the data you've collected. ...
  • Create a plan. ...
  • Implement the changes. ...
  • Repeat the process.

Types of Benchmarking

  • Strategic Benchmarking:

How public, private, and nonprofit organizations compare with each other. It moves across industries and cities to determine what are the best strategic outcomes.

  • Performance Benchmarking:

How public, private, and nonprofit organizations compare themselves with each other in terms of product and service. It focuses on elements of cost, technical quality, service features, speed, reliability, and other performance comparisons.

  • Process Benchmarking

How public, private, and nonprofit organizations compare through the identification of the most effective operating practices from many organizations that perform similar work processes

When not to Benchmark

  • Target is not critical to the core business functions
  • Customer’s requirement is not clear
  • Key stakeholders are not involved
  • Inadequate resources to carry through
  • No plan for implementing findings
  • Fear of sharing information with other organizations

Globel NCAP Rating 3 Star

Pros.

  1. 1. The Kia Sonet is a good-looking SUV, and its aggressive design and styling are also one of the reasons why customers are opting for this subcompact SUV. In fact, in our opinion, the Sonet is the best-looking SUV in the sub-4-metre space.
  2. The Sonet also comes with a great choice of engine options - a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel mill. Kia also offers 5 transmission choices with the Sonet - 5-speed MT, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed MT, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed AT.
  3. Kia also offers the Sonet with its powerful 1.5-litre VGT diesel engine paired with a segment-first 6-speed automatic torque converter. It's one of the better drivetrain options to choose from while buying the Sonet.
  4. The Kia Sonet offers a ton of smart and premium features like LED headlamps, LED DRLs, sporty alloys, and LED tail lamps. Inside it comes with 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, ventilated seats, air purifier with virus detection, wireless charger, Bose surround sound system, and more.

Cons

  1. The cabin of the Kia Sonet is a bit cramped, especially at the rear. In fact, we would say it is a 4-seater SUV because three average-sized adults cannot really sit comfortably in the second row of Sonet.
  2. The Sonet falls a bit short when it comes to handling, and on corners and turns, you will definitely feel a bit of body roll. The steering too can only be adjusted for height but not for reach.
  3. The Sonet falls a bit short when it comes to handling, and on corners and turns, you will definitely feel a bit of body roll
  4. While the Sonet is pretty well-equipped, it misses out on some of the most obvious features which are have come to expect for cars in this segment like - 60:40 rear seat split, auto wipers, illuminated window buttons, full-size spare tire on top trims.

3). Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza VXI: On Road price 10.08Lac

Global NCAP Rating 4 Star

Pros

  1. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has a conventional SUV design giving it a bold stance as well as a great road presence. The overall aesthetics are underlined by the chrome grille, LED projector headlights, LED DRLs, diamond cut alloys, roof rails and more.
  2. The SUV comes equipped with features like Smart Play Studio 2.0 touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play and navigation. Other key features are automatic climate control, push start-stop button, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, and cruise control.
  3. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza automatic is the most fuel-efficient petrol SUV in the segment

Cons

  1. While the Vitara Brezza comes loaded with several features, there's no sunroof on offer. In fact, most of its rivals in the segment get one.
  2. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza also misses out on connected car tech. We think this is a big miss, considering there's a big demand for the same.
  3. No diesel engine on offer. Most of its rivals get a diesel engine offering an option for customers to choose a powertrain as per their needs.

4). Hyundai Venue S Plus : On Road Price 9.79Lac

Key Specifications of Hyundai Venue S Plus

ARAI Mileage 17.52 kmpl
City Mileage 12.43 kmpl
Fuel Type Petrol

Global NCAP Rating 4 Star

Pros

  1. The Venue comes with the design and proportions of a proper SUV. It's also one of the most attractive offerings in this segment.
  2. Hyundai has an array of powerful and efficient engines on offer with the Venue - A frugal 1.2-litre petrol engine, a powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and for the diesel lovers, a capable 1.5-litre oil burner.
  3. The Venue is loaded with smart features like the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple Car Play & Android auto, Blue link connected car tech, air purifier, wireless charging, sunroof, and 60:40 split rear seat, among others.

Cons

  1. The styling of the Venue might not attract those looking for a bold, flashy SUV with a lot of chrome accents.
  2. While features packed, the cabin space inside the Venue is not the best, especially at the rear. It's a 4-seater SUV at best and taller occupants might not be very comfortable on long journeys.
  3. No automatic diesel option on offer. All other subcompact SUVs with a diesel engine come with automatic options, either an AMT or in the case of the Sonet, a proper torque converter.

Conclusion: From the above Specification, Pros & Cons of all four cars I would like to suggest Tata Nexon to Mr. D.S Pughazhyendhii Family as I personally drive the Tata car and Nexon is a safest car with 5 star rating in this segment, Provide comfort to the passenger. So it is totally recommended
