    QUS  :  2  :

BENCHMARKING  :  Simpally benchmarking means comparision or comparision with standard or comparision with already existing things in same field or any other field . There are two types of benchmarking in Vehicle Development Process which are as follow  :

BENCHMARKING -1 :  Benchmarking-1 is the product level benchmarking. In Benchmarking-1 we compare the product of different brands and observe the plus point and weekness of their product. Benchmarking-1 may be among the product of same field or different field. By observing the product of different brands we can develop good quality and features in our product. Benchmarking help us to make a good impression of our product in competitive market.

BENCHMARKING-2  :   Benchmarking-2 is the detailed benchmarking of benchmarking-1 . Benchmarking-2 is the part level benchmarking. In benchmarking-2 every engineer does the detailed benchmarking about the assigned part. We have observe the part thickness, material , weight etc. of each and every part.

   QUS  :  3  :

COMPARISION OF VEHICLE  :  We can classify the vehicle (focused on car) into various types , some important types are as follow :

                 1) Sedan

                 2) Hatchback

                 3) SUV

                 4 ) Crossover

                 5) Convertable

                 6)  Luxury

                 7)  Wagon

                 8)  MUV

                 9)  Coupe

    1)  Sedan  :  A sedan is defined as a 4-door passenger car  with a trunk that is separate from the passengers with a three-box body  : the engine compartment , passenger compartment  and the trunk. Throughout the generation ,the definition of a sedan has been the same. Even after the many changes and facelifts in comparision to other car segments, it has continued to maintain its popularity as the flagship car for most automobile manufacturers with a large, growing demand base. Thus, facing a large amount of competition.

EX  : Maruti Dzire ,Honda city, Hyundai Aura  etc.

2)   Hatchback  :   Traditionally the definition of a hachback was a two or four door vehicle with a tailgate that would flip upward called a hatch. While the present day description of a hatchback would be a vehicle with four door and a hatch at the rear end that flips up ,based on a two-box body for the engine and passengers or cargo. But the modern day hatchback has gone through a few modification .From smoother lines in it's design to maximizing space and practicality.

Ex. : Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Grand i 10 ,Mahindra KUV100 etc.

    3)  SUV  :  SUV stand for Spports Utility Vehicle. An SUV is defined as a body-on-frame built on a truck chassis ( ladder chassis) with a station wagon body. Normally SUV models with 4-doors utilise a two-box design and come with the option of 4WD with rear wheel drive as a standard. A majority of SUVs come with V6 engines with a separate lever that connects to the transfer case. However, if more twoing power is needed , it is also possible to upgrade your SUV with a V8 engine instead.

Ex. : Mahindra XUV300, Tata Harrier, Toyota Fortuner etc.

  4) CROSS-OVER  :      In contrast , a crossover is defined as a unibody or monocoque frame constructed on a car chassis ,thus, its body is built in a single piece. Aside from the term crossover , they are also called CUVs ( Crossover Utility Vehicle ). Similar to an SUV , model usually come with four doors and also use a two-box design. However, crossover come with a front wheel drive as a standard with the availability of all-wheel -drive as a choice . As for it,s engine ,crossover will come with a four cylinder engine, but if you are looking for fast acceleration ,a turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a V6 engine is also available.

Ex.  : Honda crosstour, Hyundai Tucson, Ford Edge etc.

 QUS :  4  :

According to me from  all of the above discussed vehicle (cars) SUV is the best vehicle type. The reason behind my statement can be explain by the following advantages of SUV's  :

 1) PRACTICALITY  :  The first and most obvious benefit is the level of practicality that SUV's have to offer thanks to their large frame, providing you with enough room to transport loads of luggage without having to drop the back seat. They also have the ability to carry more weight than the typical hatchback without being weighed down, which is ideal if you carry a lot of cargo on a regular basis.

The spacious interior makes SUV's ideal for families, with head and legroom often generous enough to leave taller member of the family with little to complain about.

     2)    SAFETY    :   Due to the size of SUV's , it comes as no surprise that they make for some of the safest cars on the road and often score well when they are put through Euro NCAP's rigorous crash test. Generally SUV's are able to take the force of a collision more effectivelly than smaller cars due to them being larger and heavier, reducing the chance of injury for all occupants.

    3)  FUEL EFFICIENCY  :

The increase in popularity has lead automotive manufacturers to develop their understanding of the typical SUV user , which explains why new vehicle are continuously returning more impressive fuel economy figures. The increased efficiency means that modern SUVs are now highly-suited to daily use as opposed to having a purely off-road focus.

    4)  ROBUSTNESS  :   While the focus of SUVs has shifted slightly to suit the lifestyle of their users, their robust nature hasn't been lost in the process . Not only does this mean they're typically safer than other vehicles, as previously mentioned , but it also allowed SUVs to absorb the scuffs and bumps of day-to-day life more easily.

5)  TOWING CAPABILITIES  :     As some of the best cars for towing caravans, it's no surprise to see SUVs hauling caravans and trailers, particularly in the summer months when many treat themselves to a staycation. SUV's usually come with larger , higher powered engines than smaller alternatives , meaning they possess a higher degree of pulling power.
