Benchmarking
1. Benchmark with presently available cars in the market for the given case
In this case study, I'm trying to suggest a big car for Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii between 8 to 10 lakhs (on road) as per his requirments.
First I need to have a clear concept about benchmarking and then I'm going to prepare a detailed report about the case study.
2. Prepare a report explaining what is Bench-Marking
Basically benchmarking is a process of comparison or measuring the performance of a company’s products, services, or processes against those of another business considered to be the best in the industry, or “best in class.”
Now I'm going to discuss about benchmarking in the automotive industry.
In automotive industry benchmarking involves a structured comparison between similar products,
services or processes on some dimensions of performance. For example comparision can be done with respect to performance, features, safety ratings, looks, etc.
Benchmarking can operate several limits.
- Between similar processes in the same factory or service branch
- Between different factories or service branches
- Between different competing organizations
- Between different sectors using the same process
- Between similar products in the same or different competing organizations
Now, I'm going to compare the below vehicles for the above case study.
3. Compare at least 4 vehicles
Now, I am going to compare 4 or more vehicles between 8-10 lakhs (on road)
- TATA NEXON (XE) [PETROL]
- RENAULT TRIBER (RXZ EASY-R AMT) [PETROL]
- MARUTI BREZZA (LXI) [PETROL]
- HUNDAI VENUE (E) [PETROL]

From this price chart we get an idea about the on road price, this is our first condition. Now we can make further comparisons based on this criteria.

4. Provide a proper conclusion for the report, suggesting a single suitable vehicle among the comparison made with images
There are few pros and cons in all the cars. From the above chart we can conclude that Nexon is best in saftey but it is the base model, so, there are few features that are absent in the above car in accordance with comfort and convenience. Since Mr. will be travelling with his family, he will prioritize saftey of his family before any other features. Thus in my opinion he should go forward with TATA NEXON (XE) as his desired car within the budget range.
