Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_7_ Metal bracket-II
Title of the Project: Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_7_ Metal bracket-II.
Objective: To design the sheet metal casing using NX CAD.
Introduction:
Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. Sheet metal is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking, and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are fabricated from sheet metal.

Below are the factors a designer needs to consider while modeling a sheet metal component.
- Wall Thickness
- Bend Radii
- Orientation of Holes & Slots
- K Factor
- Bend Allowance
- Bend Deduction
- Bend Reliefs
- Some Additional Features
Design Methodology:

Description:
All the tools and features used are as below:
1. CONTOUR FLANGE:
Use to create a base feature by extruding a sketch along a vector or adds material by sweeping a sketch along an edge or chain of edge.

2. NORMAL CUTOUT:
Cuts the model perpendicular to the sketch provided.

3. BREAK CORNERS:
This commands round a sharp corner to avoid the manufacturing tool stopping a rigid motion.

4. UNBEND:
It is used to flatten a bend to its reference surface.

5. REBEND:
Restores a bend from its flattened section to the original.

6. HOLE:
Used to create holes in the given body according to the size of the body and screw fit type.

7. ADVANCED FLANGE:
Advanced Flange adds flange along the edge using the reference face or bend angle. The edge and reference face can be curved.

8. GUSSET:
Gusset are used to give stiffness on the angular edges to provide strength to the model.
