Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_6_Bracket

DESIGN A BRACKET USING NX CAD

OBJECTIVE:

Design a sheet metal BRACKET using NX Cad software with suitable commends to achieve the final modeling as per the inputs.

INTRODUCTION:

In sheet metal application we can create uniform thickness sheet metal parts using basic features such as Tabs, flange, and jogs, we also bend corners, cut out beads, etc...

The sheet metal application provides an environment for the design of metal parts used in machinery, automotive, and aerospace Enclosures, brackets, and other parts are normally manufactured with a brake press.

The complex sheet metal part can be designed in the solid model workbench and then we converted it into a sheet metal part. We can also import, clean up and convert a non-sheet metal part into a valid sheet metal part. Flat pattern sheet metal data can be used for the manufacturing process.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY:

DESCRIPTION:

SKETCH:- It's a basic command to draw 2D models. draw a sketch on the XZ axis.

Contour Flange: -

You can create secondary contour flanges around bend edges. If you do not want to create the contour flange on the bend region, select only the tab edges and not the bend edges.

Sketch & Normal cutout:

Normal Cutout command extracts volumes from sheet metal by using sheet metal production principles. Cutting faces will be perpendicular to the sheet metal surface.

Break corners and unbend:-

Break corners:- This command is used to round or chamfer sharp corners of a tab or flange.

unbend:- This command is used to flatten the 3D model by selecting one stationary face.

Bead and Rebend:-

Bead:- This command is used to lift material along the contour of a sketch that stimulates a stamping tool. Bead can also be created to stiffen sheet material.

Rebend:- This command is used to rebend the flatten sheet material.

Hole and Flat pattern:-
