Aim: To model a ceiling above the architectural plan created.
Procedure:
Step 1:
Open the project created. Click on the first floor in plan view. Click on the ceiling from the architectural tab.
Step 2:
Click on the sketch and select pick lines select the exterior wall faces click on ok.
Step 3:
Create a ceiling above the open terrace by sketching
Result:
The ceiling is modelled above the architectural plan.
2).
Modelling roof above the ceiling
Aim: To create a roof above the ceiling and adjusting the roof slope to 10 degrees.
Procedure:
Step 1:
Go to the 3d view. Click on the roof tab under the architecture tab.
Step 2: Click on pick lines and with draw lines connect the roofline in roof level.
Step 3:
Click on the finish.
Step 4:
Then adjust the slope to 10 degrees.
Result:
The roof is created above the ceiling and the slope is adjusted to 10 degrees.
3).
Creating architectural and structural plans
Aim: To create plan views for ground floor and first floor levels and separate them into architectural and structural.
Procedure:
Architectural plan- walls, floors and all components inside the building.
Step 1:
In the architectural tab click on walls and draw the walls. Click on the doors and window tab under architectural, and place it
wherever required.
Step 2:
Click on floors and click on pick lines and click on the outline lines.
Step 3:
Click on place a component under the architectural tab and if the components are present place it or click on load family.
Step 4:
Load the components we need to place.
Step 6:
Place sofa and table, chairs, TV, TV stand in the living room
Step 7:
Place dining set in the dining room.
Step 8:
Place bed, table, chair, cabinets in bedroom
Step 9:
Place water closet, bathtub and sink in the toilet
Step 10:Place hood and hob and cabinets in the kitchen
Step 11: Place washing machine and cabinet in the store.
Step 12: Similarly, the walls create the first floor and Place doors and windows.
Step13:
Place the components. Sofa set and chairs in the living room, bed and cabinets in bedroom, reading table and chair and shelves in
the bed room.
Step14: Water closet in toilets.Create stairs for access to the first floor
Structural plan:
Columns and beams
Step 1: Create walls by clicking walls in the architectural tab. Create doors and windows.
Step 2: The floor is created by clicking on the floor tab and pick lines and select the lines.
Step 3: Place columns by clicking on the column tab under the architectural tab. Click on the architectural column and place the columns
in all corners of the wall and also wherever required
Step 4: As the column is bigger in size, go to edit type, duplicate and change the size of the column- 8"x8" mm. Similarly, place the
column in all the corners and wherever required.
Step 5 :
Delete the walls and floors.
Step 6:
Select the wall from the architectural tab, and draw beams connecting the column.
Result:
The architectural plan and structural plan has been created.
4).Adding dimensions to the architectural and structural plan
Aim: To add dimension using annotate toolbar to the architectural and structural plan.
Procedure:
Architectural plan- dimensions with respect to the grids
Step 1: The grids are created along the walls.
Step 2: Click on the annotate tab, select the linear dimension. Click on the two walls, to get the distance of the rooms.
Structural- dimensions with respect to the grids
Step 1: Create columns on all corners of the wall.
Step 2: Using the grid tab, place the grids at the centre of the column. Use the annotate tab, aligned and linear to measure the dimension
between the grids, grids and wall. Measure the dimension from grid and partition walls.
Result :Dimensions with respect to the grids are measured using annotate tool.
5).
Creating a sheet template
Aim: To create a sheet template from the view tab and adjusting the parameters to add views.
Procedure:
Step 1:
Click on the View tab, select the sheet option, select A1 metric. If we need more sheet click on the load button select title blocks
and select the sheet we need.
A sheet will be created.
step 2:
We can edit the template by double-clicking the letters. To add views, click on place views under the view tab.
Select the views created to place them in the sheet. Click on add view to the sheet.
Step 3:
When adding if the size is large, click on size crop, select scale and give a value (here 500) and apply.
Click on living and dining views and add them.Step 4:
Click on 3d view of the restroom and 3d view of the building. and place it in the sheet.
Result:
Sheet template is created and views are placed in the sheet template.
6).
Creating elevations:
Aim: Creating elevations views using the elevation tab from North, South, East and West.
Procedure:
Step 1:
In the view tab, click on elevation in level 1 view. Place the view where we need, elevation 1 will be created in the property browse
Click on elevation 1 to see the view.
Step 2:
Similarly place the elevation blocks in North, South, East and West and rename them respectively.
Click on the elevation tab from the project browser.
Step 3: Expand the elevation tab, we can see different elevations of North, East, West and South.
Click on East view.
Step 4: Click on North view.
Step 5: Click on South view.
Step 6: Click on West view.
Result:
North, South, East and West elevations are created using the elevation tab.
East view
North view
South view
West view
7).
Section cut through each room cutting longitudinally and transversely.
Aim: To create section through each room creating sections longitudinally and transversely.
Procedure:
Step 1:
Click on the section tab from the view tab, draw the section through the bedroom transversely.
Step 2:
Click on section view from the property browser, we can see the view.
Step 3: Click on the section tab, from the view tab and place the section through the living room longitudinally.
Step 4: Click on section view and select the created section from the property browser, we can change the name by right-clicking and
rename it to bedroom
Click on the living room view from the section tab.
Step 5: Click on the section from the view tab and draw the section transversely in the restroom.
Rename the section to the toilet. Click on the toilet view from the section tab.
Step 6:
Click on section view from view tab, and draw section line through the longitudinal direction in the kitchen.
Rename the section to the kitchen. Click on the kitchen view from the section tab.
Step 7:
Click on section view from view tab, and draw section line through the longitudinal direction in Dining.
Rename the section to the dining room. Click on the Dining room view from the section tab.
Step 8: Click on section view from view tab, and draw section line through the longitudinal direction in Storeroom.
Rename the section to the storeroom. Click on the storeroom view from the section tab.
Result:
The section view is created for:
1. Living room
2. Dining room
3. Bedroom
4. Restroom
5. Kitchen
6. Storeroom
8).
Classifying different views
Aim: To classify different views like plan views, section views and elevation views and document them in the project browser
Procedure:
Step 1:
In the property browser, we can see all the views are visible.
Step 2:
Click on each of the tabs to expand it, so that we can see the plans, elevations and section view created. For plan view, click on
the floor plans and expand it.
We can see that the ground floor, first floor, Roof which are created are visible.
Step 3:
Select on each level to see the floor plan of that level. -first floor created at 10' and the roof at 20'.
Step 4:
Select the first-floor plan so that we can see the plan view of the first-floor level.
Step 5:
Click on elevation in the property browser, expand it and we can see that different elevations views are there.
Step 6:
Click on East to see the east elevation view.
Step 7: Click on North elevation.
Step 8: Click on South view.
Step 9: Click on West view.
Step 10: Click on the section, to expand the views.
Step 11: Select bedroom view.
Step 12: Click on living room view.
Step 13: Click on the restroom.
Step 14:Click on the kitchen.
Step 15: Click on Dining.
Step 16:Click on Storeroom.
Result:Views are classified and are documented in the project browser.

Create multiple sheets templates using sheet template:
Aim: To create multiple sheet templates using sheet template.
1. A 101- Ground Floor Architecture Plan
2. A 102- First Floor Architecture Plan
3. A 103- Roof Plan
4. S 101- Ground Floor Structural Plan
5. S 102- First Floor Structural Plan
6. S 103- Roof Framing Plan
7. A-201- North-South Elevations
8. A-202- East-West Elevations
Procedure:
a).
A101 - Ground floor architectural plan
Step 1:
Click on create sheet from the view tab. Select the sheet, or load another if needed.
Step 2:
The sheet created will be visible in the project browser,
rename the sheet name as A101- Ground floor architectural plan
Click on place view in the view tab, a dialogue box appears.
Step 3:
Select floor plan ground floor, click on add view to the sheet.
b).
A103- First Floor architectural plan
Step 3 :
Create another sheet from the view tab - a new sheet. Rename it to A 103- First-floor architectural plan.
A102- Roof plan
Step 4:
Click on create sheet from the view tab. Rename the sheet name to A103-Roof plan
Select place view and place ceiling plan.
d).
S101- Ground Floor Structural Plan
Step 5:
Select sheet from the view tab. Rename it to S101- Ground Floor structural plan.
Step 6: Click on place view from the view tab, and place the structural plan.
e).
S102- First floor structural Plan
Step 7:
Select the created column and change the top constrain to level 3 with the base constrain as level 1.
Select sheet from the view tab. Rename it to S102- First-floor structural plan.
Step 8:
Click on place a view from the view tab.
Place the view in the sheet and adjust the scale if needed, here 1:20 scale is used.
f).
S103- Roof Framing Plan
Step 9:
Create a sheet from the view tab. Rename the sheet number and name to Roof Framing Plan.
Click on place view and place the roof plan in the sheet
g).
A201- North-South elevations
Step 10:
To create elevations, in the view tab click on elevations and place the elevation in between North and South and rename the
created elevation as North-South.
Click on sheets from the view tab.
Rename the number and sheet name to A201- North-South elevations.
Step 11 :
Click on place view and place elevation North-South.
Click on the viewport window and level (in elevation view only) and right-click and hide the element to hide the window and leve
in the sheet.
To unhide click on reveal hidden elements in the bottom tab, then click on the hided element displayed, then right-click and
there will be an option to unhide elements, click on reveal again to exit from it.
Place the image in the centre.
h).
A202- East-West elevations
Step 12:
Create elevation from the view tab - elevation and place the elevation between East and West.
Expand the elevation tab and rename the name to East-West elevation.
Create a sheet from the view tab - sheet and rename it toA202- East-West elevation.
Step 13 :
Click on place view and select the east-west elevation created.
Adjust the view and scale it accordingly.
Sections:
Step 14 :
Create a section by clicking the section tab for each room.
As the sections are already created, create sheets and place them in each sheet.
Click on the sheet from the view tab, and rename it as A 203- Section -living.
Step 15: Click on the view and place the section view created.
Step 16:
Create a sheet for the dining section from view tab A204- dining section.
Place the section view- dining.
Step 17:
Create sheet from view tab and rename it to A205- Section bedroom
Click on place view and place the section of the bedroom and adjust the scale.
Step 18:
Similarly, create a sheet for kitchen A206- Kitchen -section
Click on place a view and place the section view of the kitchen.
Result:
Respective sheets are created using a sheet template
A101- Ground Floor Architectural Plan
A102 - First Floor Architectural Plan
A103- Roof Plan
S101- Ground Floor Structural Plan

Creating camera views for each room and creating sheets for the views.
Aim: Creating camera views for each room and creating sheets for each of the 3d view.
Procedure:
Creating views :
Step 1:
Go to floor plan, from the view option-3d view- click on the camera, and place the camera in which room we need the view.
Created views will be seen under 3d in the property browser.
Living:Step 2:
Place the camera in the living room, in the floor plan.
Click on the 3d view created from the property browser and rename it to living.
Dinning :
Step 3 :
Click on the camera from the view tab under 3d view.
Place the camera such that the dining view is visible.
Expand the 3d view from the property browser and rename it to dining. Click on the dining view.
Bedroom:
Step 4:
Click on the camera from the view tab under 3d view.
Place the camera such that the bedroom view is visible.
Expand the 3d view from the property browser and rename it to the bedroom. Click on the bedroom view.Kitchen:
Step 5:
Click on the camera from the view tab under 3d view.
Place the camera such that the kitchen view is visible.
Expand the 3d view from the property browser and rename it to the kitchen. Click on the kitchen view.
Restroom:
Step 6:
Click on the camera from the view tab under 3d view.Place the camera such that the restroom view is visible.
Expand the 3d view from the property browser and rename it to the restroom.
Click on the restroom view.
Store:
Step 7:
Click on the camera from the view tab under 3d view.
Place the camera such that the store view is visible.
Expand the 3d view from the property browser and rename it to store. Click on the store view.
Creating sheets:
Step 8:
To create a sheet, go to the view tab click on the sheet, select the sheet we need or load more and select the required.Rename the sheet name as A501 - Living room
Step 9:
Click on place view and click on the living from the dialogue box.
Step 10:
Create another sheet from the view tab, rename it to A502 - Dining room.
Step 11:
Click on place a view, and select the dining room.
Step 12:
Create another sheet from the view tab, and rename it to A503- Bedroom.
Step 13:
Click on place a view and place the bedroom view.
Step 14:
Create a new sheet from the view tab, and rename it as A504- Kitchen.
Step 15:
Click on the place view and place the kitchen view.
Step 16:
Create another sheet and rename it to A505- Restroom
Step 17:
Place the view of the restroom in the sheet.
Step 18:
Create a new sheet and rename it to A506- storeroom.
Step 19:
Click on place a view and place the storeroom.
Result:
Camera views of all rooms are created and sheets are created accordingly.
Views:
Living.
Dinning.
Bedroom.
Restroom.
Kitchen.
Store.
Sheets:
a501 : dining room
A502 bedroom
A503- Kitchen
A504- Bedroom.
A505- Dining Room.
