3D Creation of Celing, Roof, Architectural plan, Structural plan, Sectional view, Elevation view and Camera specific view for a house plan using REVIT
1) Based on the project saved from Week 3, proceed from the First Floor Level. Model a Ceiling from the architecture tab above the walls at the first-floor level
AIM: Model a ceiling from the architectural tab. above the walls at the first floor level
Introduction: the creation of ceilling with revit is a very similar process to that of floor and roof, only take care is to be in the correct ceilling plan view before you start
Procedure:
step 1) take a week 3 project
from save file and open the project
step 2) select first floor from property browser
for add ceiling on first floor ( as floor plan view )
step 4) ceiling
go to architecture tab and click on
then choose ceiling option from Build
step 5) Modify
then select sketch Ceiling for build a sketch
from place ceiling option
step 6) Ceiling Boundary
select Boundary line option
and pick line option for decide boundary of the layout
step 7) selection of Boundary
select Boundary by using outer lines of walls
as shown in below fig
step 8) assin ceiling
click on right sign from modify tab
for assigning the ceiling to object
step 9) 3D view
go to view tab
and select 3D view for viewing ceil
Result: add ceiling to first floor by using architectural tab is done successfully
2) Model a roof above the ceiling by selecting the footprints of the ceiling. Using the adjustment toolbars appearing on-screen adjust the roof slope to 10 degrees
AIM: Model a roof above the ceiling by selecting the footprints of the ceiling.
Introduction: roof is a covering material of building, also roof gives to plateform to convinence
Procedure:
step 1) take a week 3 project
from save file and open the project
step 2) select first floor from property browser
for add ceiling on first floor ( as floor plan view )
step 4) Roof
go to architecture tab and click on
then choose Roof option from Build
and choose roof by footprint option
step 6) create toof footprint Boundary
select Boundary line option
and pick line option for decide boundary of the layout
step 7) selection of Boundary
select Boundary by using outer lines of walls
as shown in below fig
step 8) assin roof
click on right sign from modify tab
for assigning the roof to object
Step 9) for attach the wall to roof
then press on yes tab
step 10 ) go to 3d view for cheiking roof
Step 10) slope of roof
select the roof
select slope option from property browser
Step 11) slope of roof
then take slope as 10 degree
so type 10 in slope box
by changing slope unit from feet to degree form unit command
and press on aplly, our slope get changed
Result: creating 10 degree slope to first floor from architecture roof is done successfully
3) Using the file saved from weeks 2 to 4, create plan views for ground floor level and first-floor level including all the walls, floors, and components. Separate them to
architecture and structural plans
a. Architecture plan must have walls, floors, and all the components placed within the building
b. Structure plan must have details of only walls, floors, and columns
AIM: create plan views for ground floor level and first-floor level including all the walls, floors, and components. Separate them to architecture and structural plans
Introduction: the structural plan view is the default view when you start a new project using a structural templet
& th floor plan view is a default view in a architectural templet
Procedure :
A. Architecture plan must have walls, floors, and all the components placed within the building
step 1) take a week 3 project
from save file and open the project
step 2) select first floor from property browser
for add ceiling on first floor ( as floor plan view )
step 3) view option
go to view tab and click on
then choose plan view option from create
step 4) architectural plan
drawp down the plan view option
and choose floor plan option and click on it
step 5) architectural plan
then nwe floor plan screen is open for view
then press ok
step 6) you see the architectural floor plan
B. Structure plan must have details of only walls, floors, and columns
step 1) take a week 3 project
from save file and open the project
step 2) select first floor from property browser
for add ceiling on first floor ( as floor plan view )
step 3) view option
go to view tab and click on
then choose plan view option from create
step 4) Structural Plan
drawp down the plan view option
and choose Structural Plan option and click on it
step 5) structural plan
then nwe floor plan screen is open for view
then press ok
step 6) you see the structural floor plan
Result: architectural and structural floor plan are make successful using plan view option
4) Using annotate toolbar add dimensions to all the walls and floors with reference to the longitudinal and transverse grids created in the project file
a. The architecture plan dimensions include details on where the components are placed within the buildings with relation to grids. Overall dimensions are sufficient for architecture plans
b. The Structure plan dimensions must include details on the position of all the walls and interior walls with reference to grids. Locate all the framing components of the building with reference to a fixed point using Structural plans
AIM: Using annotate toolbar add dimensions to all the walls and floors with reference to the longitudinal and transverse grids created in the project file
Introduction: annotation plays very important role for understanding drawing, during estimation, execution etc etc
Procedure: Dimension to Architectural plan
step 1) go to archtectural view
from property browser
step 2) go to annotate tab
select alined option or linear option from dimension
step 3) select the outer of wall where we want to dimensioned
and dimension the plan
Dimension for structural plan
step 1) go to archtectural view
from property browser
step 2) go to annotate tab
select alined option or linear option from dimension
step 3) select the outer of wall where we want to dimensioned
and dimension the plan
Result: annotate dimension to architectural and structural plan are done successfully
5) Create a sheet template from the view tab and adjust the parameters on the sheet to add appropriate views
AIM: Create a sheet template from the view tab
Introduction: creat view on a project templet before you start a building the model to streamline the project documentation process
Procedure: make a sheet
Step 1) go to view tab
then choose sheet icon and click on sheet
Step 2) choose paper size
here showing variou type of paper sizes
so choose A0 metric paper size
and press ok
Step 3) immediatly sheet will be created
after chooseing a paper size
Step 4) rename the sheet ( project information )
or fill project information to sheet
from project information from manage tab
Step 5) adjust the parameters on the sheet to add appropriate views
go on sheet from property browser
then click and drag the ground floor plan on sheet
Step 6) adjust the scale
go to scale on property browser
set the proper scale for clear visible
set scale as 1:20
Result: make a sheet of A0 metric size is done with adjusting parameter for view are successfully by sheet tab
6) Using the elevation tab create the elevation views, looking at your building from East, North, South, and West
AIM: create the elevation views, looking at your building from East, North, South, and West
Introduction: A elevation is a view of building seen from one side a flat representation of one view
Procedure:
Step 1) for making elevation we need or use elevation tab
in my project defalt elevation with north,south,east and west elevation are made
in project browser, If that are not availabl default to our project
so just go on view tab and choose elevation option
then put the elvation ball to all four side of opject and rename it as
north south east and west respectively

*we have to plan and we make elevation for that plan
Step 2) East Elevation
go to project browser
then click on elevation view and press on east
we got elevation of east
Step 3) West Elevation
go to project browser
then click on elevation view and press on West
we got elevation of west
Step 4) North Elevation
go to project browser
then click on elevation view and press on North
we got elevation of North
Step 5) South Elevation
go to project browser
then click on elevation view and press on South
we got elevation of South
Result: elevation view for all 4 direction are done successfully
7) Produce section cut through each room either cutting across longitudinally or in a transverse direction

Introduction: sectional views reveal hidden details in a drawing
Procedure:
A. Bed room section
step 1) go to the ground floor plan
select from project browser
step 2) go to view tab
then just click on section icon
step 3) draw section line
draw section line on bed room
by just click on outer edge of wall of room
and select second corner of wall where we wish to section
step 4) rename the section
go to project browser
draw down the section option
and rename the section 1 as bed room
step 5) view bed section
click on bed room in section we see the section of bed
like that, and select the region for clear view
A. Master Bed room section
step 1) go to the ground floor plan
select from project browser
step 2) go to view tab
then just click on section icon
step 3) draw section line
draw section line on master bed room
by just click on outer edge of wall of room
and select second corner of wall where we wish to section
step 4) rename the section
go to project browser
draw down the section option
and rename the section 2 as master bed room
step 5) view master bed section
click on master bed room in section we see the section of bed
like that, and select the region for clear view
C. kitchen section
step 1) go to the ground floor plan
select from project browser
step 2) go to view tab
then just click on section icon
step 3) draw section line
draw section line on kitchen
by just click on outer edge of wall of room
and select second corner of wall where we wish to section
step 4) rename the section
go to project browser
draw down the section option
and rename the section 1 as kitchen
step 5) kitchen section
click on kitchen in section we see the section of kitchen
like that, and select the proper region for clear view
D. Living room section
step 1) go to the ground floor plan
select from project browser
step 2) go to view tab
then just click on section icon
step 3) draw section line
draw section line on living room
by just click on outer edge of wall of room
and select second corner of wall where we wish to section
step 4) rename the section
go to project browser
draw down the section option
and rename the section 1 as living room
step 5)kitchen room section
click on bed room in section we see the section of bed
like that, and select the proper region for clear view
Result: section for bed room, master bed room , kitchen and living room are done successfully using section tab
8) Classify the views, Plan Views, Section Views, and Elevation views to either Design or Documentation category using Properties browse
AIM: Classify the views, Plan Views, Section Views, and Elevation views to either Design or Documentation category using Properties browse
Introduction: views of building or project are classified with levels, view, section and elevation etc etc, for easy work and visuall ascpect
Procedure:
Step1 ) first we open the project browser, theviews, plan views, section views and elevation views are visible in that project browser as shown in fig
we insert these plans one by one in the sheet separately
Step 2) plan view:
plan view consist of floor plan, ground floor plan, roof means it consist all level of our project
in help of floor plan we able to work on perticular space or level
with the help of floor plan we can open any floor level whenever we required
it is actually top view of building or plan
that is floor plan for first floor
step 3) section views
section view is cut/ break view of building from perticular position/site of the object
section view is help to actual visuallization of building after cutting any face of building
with the help of section view we can able to see various room or building unit from any side of the room
we create diffrent section for diffrent units
here we create section for all the rooms
that is the section view for kitchen rooom
step 4) Eleavtion view
elevation view of building is actually a front view or exterial appearance of building from any corner of building
elevation helps to visualised actual apearance of exterior view
elevation are difrent from diffrent views
we present our drawing using the eleavtion view
here we create elevation for all 4th side
That is the south section view of building
Result: we classified views accourding to function and purpose,. that views gives help to working as well as for visuallisation of view
9) Using the sheet template produced create multiple sheets as follows
a. A 101- Ground Floor Architecture Plan
b. A 102- First Floor Architecture Plan
c. A 103- Roof Plan
d. S 101- Ground Floor Structural Plan
e. S 102- First Floor Structural Plan
f. S 103- Roof Framing Plan
g. A-201- North-South Elevations
h. A-202- East-West Elevations
AIM: To create the multiple sheets and produce the drawing in the sheet
Introduction: when creating a project templet you can include sheets in the templet. start with the blank project file, and creat the standard view and level that each project should include
Procedure: make a sheet
Step 1) go to view tab
then choose sheet icon and click on sheet
Step 2) choose paper size
here showing variou type of paper sizes
so choose A0 metric paper size
and press ok
Step 3) immediatly sheet will be created
after chooseing a paper size
Step 4) rename the sheet ( project information )
or fill project information to sheet
from project information from manage tab
now using sheettemplet produced create multiple sheet as follows
Step 1) first we produced the ground floor architectural plan in the sheet templet A-101, as shown in the below figure
Step 2) first we produced the first floor architectural plan in the sheet templet A-102, as shown in the below figure
Step 3) first we produced the roof plan in the sheet templet A-103, as shown in the below figure
Step 4) first we produced the ground floor structural plan in the sheet templet S-101, as shown in the below figure
Step 5) first we produced the first floor structural plan in the sheet templet S-102, as shown in the below figure
Step 6) first we produced the roof framing plan in the sheet templet S-103, as shown in the below figure
Step 7)next we produced the north and south elevation view in the sheet templet A-201, as shown in the below figure
Step 8)next we produced the East and west elevation view in the sheet templet A-202, as shown in the below figure
Result: created the multiple sheets and produced are drawing in the sheet, from the given drawing
10) Create a camera-specific view or a 3D view in each room ( living, dining, bedroom). Based on the views create a new set of sheets starting A-501 (you can add as many sheets after, 502, 503.. n)to place the 3D view images. Produce the sheets as a part of project drafting
AIM: To create a camera specific view or a 3D view in living room, dining room and bedroom in the sheet
Introduction: camera view are really useful in revit, they allow us to view what we would actually see if we were standing at any given location in our design
Procedure: make camera view
step 1) make camera view for bed room
select ground floor plan from property browser
selct camera from 3D view>view tab
step 2) set camera for bed room
then set camera on bedroom
and adjust the window for viewing whole bedroom with proper manner
and rename view as bedroom
step 3) set camera for dining room
then set camera on dining room
and adjust the window for viewing whole bedroom with proper manner
and rename view as dining room
step 4) set camera for living room
then set camera on living room
and adjust the window for viewing whole bedroom with proper manner
and rename view as living room
create A sheet
Step 1) go to view tab
then choose sheet icon and click on sheet
Step 2) choose paper size
here showing variou type of paper sizes
so choose A0 metric paper size
and press ok
Step 3) immediatly sheet will be created
after chooseing a paper size
Step 4) rename the sheet ( project information )
or fill project information to sheet
from project information from manage tab
step 5) create sheet as name with
A-501, A-502, A-503
Step 6) take sheet A-501 from property browser
and add living room on sheet
just put cursor on living 3D view and just drag the cursor on sheet
and adjust the object window on sheet
Step 7) take sheet A-502 from property browser
and add dining room on sheet
just put cursor on dining room 3D view and just drag the cursor on sheet
and adjust the object window on sheet
Step 8) take sheet A-503 from property browser
and add bed room on sheet
just put cursor on bed room 3D view and just drag the cursor on sheet
and adjust the object window on sheet
Result: creat sheet with camera views of various room are done successfully
