In this project you will learn , how to extract data from the XSTEAM file(steam tables) and to make a Matlab Script to find the pressure, temperature, enthalpy and entropy at various state points. By this you can plot the T-S and h-S diagram of Ideal Rankine Cycle.
MATLAB is a high-performance language for technical computing. It integrates computation, visualization, and programming in an easy-to-use environment where problems and solutions are expressed in familiar mathematical notation.
The Rankine cycle is the fundamental operating cycle of all steam power plants and steam engines where an operating fluid is continuously evaporated and condensed.
It will convert the heat to mechanical work while changing the phase of the operating fluid, this project helps to design the power plant operating conditions(pressure,temperature,enthalpy and entropy)
by which the plant efficiency can be increased and specific steam consumption can be decreased.
