Wiring harness routing & packaging Rules Week 3 Challenge

 AIM

Download following cad data & define it as Electrical support using Electrical Part design Workbench. Define all the necessary properties.

P CLAMP

‘P’ type mounting clips are ideal elements for retaining / holding pipes, cables, cable harnesses, hoses etc. They bracket wires, cables or hoses together mechanically and are fastened securely to an anchor point – usually with a screw or a bolt.

The below figure shows the downloaded cad file of P clamp

first work on the part design workbench to create required geometrical parameters (entry point ,entry plane, exit plane and base plane etc)

then switch to electrical part design work bench and define it as a support part .select the appropriate plane and points to define support part .The P clamp has two entry planes so define it twice to completely define the P clamp.

finally create a cataloge document in clamp family to store the cad data.

BACK SHELL

Back shells are the dressing and packaging devices/covers used at the end of the connectors as a retention devices.

The below fig shows the cad file of downloaded back shell .

first  create required geometrical parameters (Back shell connection point ,Back shell connection axis and bundle connection point  )on the part design workbench .

Then switch to electrical part design workbench and define it as a back shell. Then Define  Back shell Connection point and  Bundle Connection point.

CORRUGATED TUBES:

Corrugated Tubes are used as protection coverings for the wire bundle from any type of damages.

The  following corrugated tubes created as per the dimensions given in the table and storing in the Slit COT family catalogue document.
