Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 5 & 6 Challenge
Aim : route the given harness layout in electrical workbench, check bundle continuity and give annotation for all the connectors. create cat. Part and convert it to igs files.
PROCUDURE'S DONE
CONNECTOR CATALOGUE FILE CREATION:
- Downloaded all the provided connector cad data and provide the required geometrical features.
- define the connectors electrically with the required parameters.
- then create a catalogue file and a family with name as connector's
- add the electrically defined connector files to the catalogue.
CREATE THE HARNESS LAYOUT:
- the lay out for the harness A&B have been provided.
- so, we create a sketch by assuming the dimensions for the harness layout.
sketch for harness A

sketch for harness B

HARNESS PRODUCT FILE CREATION:
- Created a product file for both the harness A & B
- Then added the sketch file and the required connector files to the product file.
- then place the connectors in the desired locations as in the provided harness layout diagram, using the smart move tool.

- then convert the product file to electrical file
- and created the multi branchable's with diameter as 15mm, 10mm and 5mm as required
- then provided protective covering for all the created branches.

BUNDLE CONTINUTY CHECK:
- after creation all harness branches, we check the connectivity of the branches with search tool.
- after the continuity check we get result that every branch's are interconnected properly.
harness A

HARNESS B

ANNOTATION :
- For providing annotation for the connectors, we provide xy plane as the reference plane.
- then select each connector and provided the respective name for each with 'flag note with leader'

CREATION OF INTERCONNECTION:
- For creating interconnection between harness, A & B we create a new product file.
- then add both harnesses file into it.
- then connect connector number 5 & 6 with 'connect electrical device' tool in 'electrical assembly design' workbench

BUNDLE WARNING CHECK:
- no bundle warning has found
