Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 5 & 6 Challenge

Routing

1. Open all connector step files and define electrically and store in catalogue.

1. Create new Cat Product File.
2. Browse all required connectors from catalogue in assembly.
3. Adjust placement of all connectors as shown in question.
4. Open wiring harness environment.
5. Select geometrical bundle.
6. Select multi-branchable and enter Diameter 10 mm.
7. In route definition select connectors according to required layout.
8. Adjust position of connector, tangent direction accordingly.

10. After complete layout save assembly.

Checking bundle continuity, Annotation, Generate IGS file.

1. Select multi-branchable – Edit – Search – Advanced – electrical- bundle segment –fully connected – False.
2. If 0 object found means all bundle segments are fully connected.
3. Annotate all connector by selecting appropriate plane.
4. Go to mechanical assembly workbench – Tools – Generate CatPart from Product.
5. Save As STEP/IGS.
