Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 2 Challenge

1.Deutsch DT06 – 08SA

Connector connection point: Make a midpoint on the contact face for wire bundle insertion.

Create an axis system with respect to the point we just made, defining the axis direction as shown below.

Bundle connection point:

Switch to 'Electric Part Design'

In Catia, define the part as a connector and set the number of terminations to four because we have four entry points for wire.

Define the connector connection point and the bundle connection point.

2.Tyco 174357-2 :

• Create a midpoint
• Create a Connector connection point
• Create a Connector connection axis system
• Create a cavity connection point
• Create a cavity connection axis system
• Switch to Electric part design and define the part as a connector
• 

3.Tyco 85229-1 :

• Create a midpoint, a cavity connection point, and a cavity connection axis system with the same orientation as the connector.
• Switch to an electric part design and define the part as Mounting Equipment.
• 

Electric Assembly Design

• Import Connector as well as cavity/mounting clip
• Choose Connect Electrical Devices, and select the axis system from both the cavity and connector.
