Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 2 Challenge

Few definitions to be known to start the Electrical Harness design:

Connector Connection Point: It is the connecting devices of the electrical system. The contact face of connection point should be normal to the bundle connection point.

Bundle Connection Point: Bundles are the electrical harness which carries two or more wire harness to the connectors.

Mounting Devices: there are several mounting electrical devices in an electrical system. Here the clips are used as the mounting device.

Cavity and cavity connection point: The cavity is the mating area on the clip. It is the locking part of the clip which withholds the clip with the connector. The cavity connection point is the point in which the cavity of the clip mates on the connector.

Here for the perfect constrain the mating definitions should be given properly. There is no specific industrial standards for defining the axis. But the main condition is the direction of both the mating axis should be same (locking axis direction, normal to mating surface axis)

In the Electrical Assembly workbench, when both the mating parts are imported or copied, then the connection and disconnection of electrical devices can be made easily in a single click only when the parts are electrically defined properly.
