Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 2 Challenge
WIRING HARNESS DESIGN IN CATIA V5
To describe it as an electrical connector using Electrical Part design Workbench, download the following connectors and connector clip cad files from the provided link. Give Connectors & Clip all the appropriate characteristics.

PROCEDURE
Typical design flow of EDS System.

Defining the connector
We need to define the connector by following the below steps.
1. Install the connector data, first.
2. Establish the necessary geometrical parameter.
3. An electrical connector is a part.
4. Describe the bundle connection point in 4.
5. Describe the connector's site of connection.
6. Describe the cavity connection location in 6.
Defining the mounting clip
1. Download the 3D clip data first.
2. Make the geometry parameter in step two.
3. Specify the component as a mounting part.
4. Specify cavity for the part.
5. Below is a description of defining the connector.
6. The photos are displayed below after downloading the CAD data from the supplier's website.

- Creating required geometrical parameters for the connectors
- The axis system must then be installed on the connections' generated points with the same orientation in order to guarantee proper component assembly.
- By selecting the command and the component, you can define the part as a connector by using the define connector command.
- Establish the bundle connection point and choose the necessary input from the developed geometries, including the axis, points, and face.
- Establish the connector connection point and choose the needed geometry inputs.
- Finally, we must define the cavity connection point, which is only necessary in this case if a mounting clip provision has been made.
- After specifying the connectors, we must also define the clip. There are several steps involved in defining the clip.
- For the clip, we must define it as a mounting component and choose the necessary input for that definition.
- Then, using the connect electrical devices command in the electrical assembly design window, we may put the component together as a locating or mounting feature.
