Week 9 - Project - A pillar Design with Master Section

REPORT:

CLASS A - Input Cheking-

Input Class A surface is checked for improvements.

class A is Ok and do not need any further improvement.

Tooling Axis Creation.-

A surface is extracted form class A (major surface),

point oN surface and line with point -direction (Y-direction) is the tool axis.

No need of bisecting method here.

Draft Analysis- Performed with Tooling Axis. for A suraface

With the tooling axis, draft analysis is performed. for class A. Complete surface is clearing draft analysis.

Class B Creation- Offset class A bt 2.5 mm. Thickness value taken from master section.

There is a single patch in offset. which is cleared by using Swift (with respect to Ref. surface option.)

B surface created by using extract, extrapolation and trimming. final shape is created using Sweep wrt ref surface option.

Class C surface creation-

boundary extracted from A surface and swept wrt A surface.

To cover irregularities, sweep is performed with tooling axis.

join differnt surface sections and C surface is joined.

Surface A and surface C is joined.

B surface extrapolated.

Trim Extrapolated B and Join A-C.

Closed body created.

this closed body is also checked for Draft Analysis. It is also clearing.

B-Side Surface Creation;-

Dog HOuse With Ribs-

by refering Master Section, Planes are created using 3 points.

Dog house is created usidng Extrude.

thickening.

Ribs are created using Master section curves.

Lifter Axis Creation-

As side core will not be possible, due to side walls of pillar.

hence we need to create lifter axis.

Lifter axis created - point-direction option.

With lifter axis, 0.5 deg draft is given to inner walls of dog house and ribs surfaces.

fillets are provided.

Ribs Creation-

as Part thickness is 2.5 mm. Rib height is 5 X 2.5 =12.5 mm

Rib Thicknes 0.4 X 2.5 = 1 mm.

Dist. between two ribs maintianed = 50 mm.

Ribs on left and right Side are creatd using above design rules.

copy-PAste special- translate commnads are repeated for all ribs.

Draft .5 deg.
