- Report on creation of tooling axis
REPORT ON CREATION OF TOOLING AXIS
The specimen provided was a door trim. A tooling axis was created for the A surface considering the draft constraints. With respect to tooling axis a B-surface and C-surface was created.
Tooling axis was created by considering all the draft requirements. Different tooling axes were created on different axis. Finally a tooling axis was selected by the bisecting method.
Also another tooling was created based on a trial and error method. In this method Y axis passed as the tooling axis. Since Y axis was more adequate, the later tooling axis was considered as the final tooling axis of the specimen.
